Boro Press Conference

Dana Malt represented fmttm today..
Chris says he feels "very humbled" by the huge away following. Loved it when he said that sort of following would equal Prem clubs, as well as champo.
He knows what hes on about in football.
Best Manager since Rioch(y)

He is a good man, he is ambitious for the club not just himself. I love his press conferences and his honesty shines through, as does his sense of humour. Our club feels like we are finally on the up. I am very confident that with Wilder in charge we will be welcoming the likes of Man City, Utd, Liverpool and their ilk to the Riverside once more before too long.

Everything about the club seems together, the transfer policy is looking good, I like the way we are going about our business and Kieran Scott seems to be having a big impact already. Additionally, I have no doubt that he will have learnt a lot from when he took Sheff Utd up there and with astute purchases when it happens will stay there too. Well done Mr Gibson for these calls 👍

Early days r00fie lad but its looking really good

I’ll say. Rioch‘s ability to hike the pride in the team and the town was phenomenal.
Still remember after we lost to Leicester, the players, the fans, the town were so down we'd blown automatic promotion

BR was talking after the defeat & looking forward to the playoffs, he finishsd off his interview with, "The players are feeling low at they moment but when they report back on monday they report back for work"

The way he finished his interview had the hairs on the back of your neck standing up

When Bruce Rioch was manager at Arsenal he invited two guys from MSS to his office at Highbury for an interview. Erimus you may have read it in one of the MSS mags. I can always recall a chat I had with them when they told me Rioch was brilliant that day. They shared tea and cakes with him, he told his Secretary not to disturb them and then spent an hour saying how great his time was at Ayresome Park. The next day he bought David Platt to the Club at Arsenal.

The guys said there was never any doubting his genuine affection and he had tears in his eyes

I've mentioned before on here, 1986 my younger brother lost his arm in a horrific work accident & hospitalised, I wrote a letter to Willie Maddren regarding my mad Boro supporting brother & could he send players to visit him, I then delivered tbe letter myself but was told by the female secretary that sadly WM had just been sacked, not announced to the public yet, I told her about my brother & she promised to put the letter on the next managers desk & see to it that it will be the 1st thing he reads

When BR was announced as manager & sat behind the desk his 1st job was to call in Tony Mowbray, a friend of my brother, pick some players & go immediately to visit my brother at the General hoslital
I joked to my brother that BR picked his 1st teamsheet was to visit you

The Bruce Rioch journey was unique, born of complete adversity. Mostly young, many local players on buttons playing for their futures and their Club.
But there wasn't finance in place, there were no stars, no big stadium and crowds were half the size of now.

This feels much more like the Karanka play off season to me, with a galvanised fanbase, squad pleased to be here and manager who knew what he was doing. Very large away followings were feeding growing home crowds.
The difference now however is I think the manager is better, more stable and more suited, the squad is better, the fan base already bigger, the structure infinitely better, the owner wiser but still the biggest fan, and the whole lot is pulling together like never before.

Rioch deserves his status, but Wilder will become a major figure in Boro's history I believe.

Warnock's press conferences started so well but were cringe worthy come the end of his reign.
Wilder is just a class act
