Boro newspaper in Holiday on the Buses

Yes Holiday on the Buses was filmed on location in North Wales but the other scenes were shot at Elstree Studios in Borehamwood where that bus terminus canteen scene will have been made. , Herts Not far from Stevenage possibly. Or Haringay for that matter.

But Stevenage weren't formed until 1976, and Holiday on the Buses (an absolute classic BTW) came out in 1973, so unlikely to be Stevenage. Harringay were not formed until 1973, so again unlikely to be them either.

Plot thickens then. Although Haringey Borough were actually formed in 1970. That said can’t belive a team that new would be attracting headlines like that.

Could be anything really. If the film came out in 1973 it was probably filmed late 1972. Spurs beat us 2-1 in the League Cup In October 1972. Could have related to that.

Is the picture to the right related to the story ? Is it an open topped bus tour ?

If it's not, and it relates to something else, then is it likely to be sport related and so it may not be to do with football at all ?

Yes it’s definitely an open top bus photo. Looks like they are holding up a Cup which suggests the a paper dates to around March- May of that year.

That said as a paper prop it could have been years old and brought out of the prop cupboards at Elstree.
