Cardiff got promoted with Callum Paterson as their top scorer with 10 goals.

We were promoted with David Nugent as our top scorer with 8 goals.

Collins got 10 goals and 3 assists this season, 14 and 3 assists last season.
For a free transfer that's not a bad return.
 
Collins is decent enough. Especially for nothing. I didn't actually realise he was 6ft 2. I would stay his stats stack up pretty well over 2 seasons in the champo in an average side (like us awful last season).

The fact several champo clubs want him suggests he's not sh*t. To be honest I'm sure someone else may pay him more.

Just about every forward mentioned gets panned because the 'only' scored 10 goals. What do for expect when we are looking at frees? Collins and Smith (Rotherham) scored 10 and played over 35 games. It means they are champo ready and pretty injury free. They would both add a new dimension and cost around a million for the pair.

That's more productive than our current out going muliti million pound forwards.... Not hard i know😂
 
Assombalonga scored 5 this season.
Just checked the club web site to check I wasn’t doing Britt a disservice. It informed me that he also got ZERO assists in 30 odd games.

I am sure Britt set one up for someone last season and sky said its his 2nd assist in 3 years. The very definition of not doing anything if he ain't scoring.

I am sure we are looking at forwards who graft (you'd think it's a giver but it's not) and throw in a few assists.

I doubt we have any such thing as a European scouting network, we would have brought some decent Europeans in if so.
 
I mentioned Lucas Joao a month ago (there was some interest on here but not a lot) - he is a 1 in 3 championship striker - he is more than a "big lump" or "journeyman" and is 28, but would cost some cash. To me he is a realistic option.
 
Can I just say I did not pass an opinion on this player ( I forgive Nobby for not knowing the difference between reporting a link and confusing it with my opinion of the player, bless)

For the record I would have been underwhelmed if he had turned up to us.
