Boro in the Grauniad

Hurworth Place is actually the name that Rockcliffe Park training ground falls under but perhaps that is just too far under the radar.

She did ask one question about how bothered Michael Carrick was - that a good cup run had apparently effected Boro`s promotion attempts in the past [?]
Did that worry him?

"It doesnt bother me at all if I`m honest" replied Michael Carrick:love:

good read - though I'd disagree with the assessment ".. replacement of Wilder’s 3-5-2 with a more possession-oriented 4-2-3-1.."

Wilder was obsessed with possession & choreographed build up which was too often sideways & backwards & always too slow.. IMHO, Carrick has allowed a more pragmatic, forward looking & moving passing based game.. players allowed to think & express themselves.. a much more attacking focused game plan..

Definitely a higher paced game with Carrick. Wilder was all about feeding play down the wings aiming for cut backs from the goal line. Carrick prefers verticals, down both channels but also through the middle, the midfield two being absolutely critical to how we build attacks
