Boro in “advanced talks” with Diedhiou

How do you pronounce his name?
Seems to be pronounced 'jay-due' whenever I've heard commentators say it.

I'm on the fence with this one. His overall record looks alright, 1 in 3, but I remember reading a few Bristol City fans opinions when we were first linked, and their opinions weren't the best. Seems to score in patches, sometimes several in a game, but then go ages without a goal.

I think before they played us at The Riverside, he hadn't scored in ages.

Well he certainly has some ability that we are missing. We need to be able to bully CBs a bit more than we have since JFH and Viduka left we've been too soft up top and that's a long time ago.

Not entirely convinced on his mobility or goalscoring, but I'm sure he's better than Britt.

Good news & a good boost for us fans to see the club & NW are string to address the mai issue we've had for a few seasons now, getting rid of the two failures was one forward step 👍

I would go for Gayle from Newcastle. When everyone is fit he gets on the bench at best. The Mags are bound to sign another striker as well. Hes quality in this division.
Gayle was laughing when he missed a good chance a couple of weeks back - so he'd be popular on here....

From the Bristol Post today:-

"There has also been growing disillusionment within the fanbase over the nature of his performances, with the Senegalese lacking impact and almost becoming the symbol of the general apathy within the team - particularly in Wednesday's 2-1 defeat to bottom-of-the-table Wycombe.

Pearson has questioned the commitment of certain individuals, without naming them, with Diedhiou an obvious suspect given the striker is out of contract in June 30 and has shown little inclination to sign a new agreement."

Looking forwards to seeing the defence and midfield keeping it on the deck next season then. 🙄

I'm done with judging strikers on past goalscoring record.

We've gone down the route of signing players with good numbers for over a decade, and they've never brought their numbers with them.

Furthermore you pay through the nose for those numbers.

I'm going to trust NW to see something he can work with in future signings.

Sounds like Britt! 😟
