Boro fans @ Braga

Are there more Boro fans at this fairly meaningless friendly in a fairly remote part of Portugal that some Championship teams bring to the Riverside for a league game?

Pleasing to see a young man with what appears to be Downs Syndrome integrated into the Red Faction. (y)

I was there Wurzel and certainly quite a few Boro there, at a guess 2 to 3 hundred.
As for Lagos being remote mate that's one thing it certainly isn't. It's one of the biggest resorts on the Algarve and very easy to get to.
As for the Downs Syndrome lad in the Red Faction, if it's who I think you mean I was talking to him at the game and he certainly isn't DS.
Cracking trip away though.

There was a surprisingly raucous atmosphere in the ground and by the marina pre match.
A couple of local kids thought
it was hilarious watching older Boro guys jumping around like lunatics at half time!

Were you involved with the carry on with the lad with the Newcastle shirt during the first half?

Looks approx 200 on the MFC photos - Amazed it was more than 20 on holiday.

I thought Braga played in Northern Portugal, but I had not done much checking on this ganme. It appears the game was played in the Algarve.

For individual fans I am just going on the photos on the MFC website and the one I was looking at the fans were not close up. Apologies, if I have upset anyone.

Just look on the MFC Twitter account and there appears a lot of Boro fans singing from a balcony across a lake - was that the back of the stadium or is it something else?

Possibly the lighthouse bar overlooking the marina in Lagos?

The balcony was a pub on the Marina in Lagos mate, it was called the Lighthouse, cracking atmosphere all day.
It was a surprising turn out for a game out there and I'm sure a few will have already been holiday on the Algarve. We had another family of five with us from Stockton who shared our mini bus. They were on holiday for 10 days.
Still, I'm sure a lot, including our three lads, just took the chance to have a short trip away in the sun watching the Boro.

Anyway, well done for sticking up for the lad, he seemed like a decent fella, and left with a smile on his face.👍
Cheers mate, he was in the Lighthouse and was good banter all day. His two mates were Scunthorpe Reds and he had actually taken the top off on the way into the ground. Wasn't good what happened but like we said earlier, it was sorted out thankfully.
