Boris Johnson's "soz like"

He's expected to give an unreserved apology at the COVID enquiry next week, admitting he made mistakes.

But for a compulsive liar, it's all a bit late and a bit hollow is it not?

Will be welcomed by his sycophantic cult followers, but small words to the hundreds of thousands of British people who lost loved ones unnecessarily. Expect the loyal blinkered Tories to tell us "he's apologised, move on".

All stinks of Boris Johnson doing what is needed for Boris Johnson to further his grubby grifting however he can.

I hope the inquiry absolutely rinses him and affords him zero mercy.
The hope is, based on previous times he's been called to give evidence, he will lose his cool at the sheer nerve of little people daring to question his (self perceived) superiority. He'll get radged and start to blurt things out he really shouldn't. He won't care about throwing anyone under the bus to save his own ar*e.......which could be interesting.

On the spot he will come across as the narcissistic, spoilt, petulant man child he is.

In an ideal world he will be fooking nailed.

He’s also adding - the actions he took saved 000’s of lives 😂

The good law project are already suggesting that the threshold for negligence against Hancock has been passed and prosecution could be on the table.

Johnson’s PR team will want him demonstrate far more humility.

Well Hancock will be safe then going on the fox killers past record.

"I would like to take this opportunity to apologise for any perceived errors which me or my advisers made during A most difficult time for the nation, I as Prime minister had to make some very difficult decisions but I followed the science and tried to do what I thought best for this great nation. Mistakes may of been made along the way but it is time to move on as a nation. In the words of [insert obscure philosopher here] and his famous saying [Insert random dog Latin phase here] I am sure you will all agree with the meaning behind this phase and will join me in thanking everybody who sacrificed so much during the COVID pandemic and I am sure we as a nation and great people of Great Britain will COME-BACK-STRONGER for the experiences and knowledge we learned during those dark times"

I would be astounded if he actually says “I am sorry for what I have done.”

He is predisposed never to take responsibility for any failings, and to never apologise - that would be a show of weakness, to him.

Morally bankrupt.

The lead KC on the inquiry, Hugo Keith is going to rip him a new one, having watched him dismantle most of the other inadequates. The ‘Boris’ act is not going to cut it with him.
He is going to torture the fraud.
He will need to. Johnson's rumoured mea culpa will almost certainly involve lying - he just can't help himself. As soon as he opens his mouth lies will emerge. If he does confess to personal failures it will be to distract his audience from greater venalities. It is his nature. Utter contempt for the rest of humanity is the core of his being.

Would this really help us deal with a future pandemic?

The enquiry is supposed to be about finding what went right & what went wrong not the exercise is **** covering & name calling that we've got.

Well yeah, of course. By rinsing him I mean they get right into the nitty gritty of it all and his particular failings, in order to establish the extent of his dereliction of duties and the impact that had on our response.
They must not ease up and ‘show mercy’, by which I mean allow him to reduce the level of scrutiny he’s placed under because he’s fronted up and apologised for some mistakes. I’m sure there will be some out there, the exact type of moron and journalistic ally that he’s playing to, who will be saying ‘oh well he’s said sorry, he tried his best but we really don’t need to pursue this particular line because he’s acknowledged he made a mistake already. Poor old Boris, he’s getting an unfair hard time now’.

He must not be given the opportunity to obfuscate and bluff and bluster through the inquiry. The facts must be established and the lessons must be learnt.

If he tells a provable lie he goes to jail. He will be under oath.

He did manage this when in front of the privelidges committee so I am sure he will manage it again.

What he cannot do is lie.

You aren’t getting answers from Johnson on that, he won’t have a clue or care enough to give any insight other than saying whatever saves his own skin.

We need to hold our politicians to account this isn’t just a few silly mistakes or forgetfulness.. decisions were made for their own self interests uncompetitive contracts given out to their mates that took longer to deliver and in many cases were not fit for purpose. We deserve better than that much better, our politicians need to be held to the same standard as the average working man.

This shouldn’t just end with the pandemic.. all these outside interests need knocking on the head.. hedge funds the benefit from the economy being tanked, shares in private healthcare companies, directorships etc

We need to bring an end to all this left, right, Red, blue rhetoric.. it’s us and THEM

"Them" are not the left.......the right are in power and the cause of out of control corruption......the elitists..the people who think they are born to rule .don't fall into the trap of " they are all the same" ...they aren't, believe me.....

Either Patrick Vallance or Rishi Sunak have already lied to the Inquiry, as they have given completely contradictory stories regarding medical opinion on the Eat Out to Help Out scheme.

I know where my money is.
