Boris, he's a bit of a lad isn't he?

Good old Boris never fails to draw attention to himself. He tried to get his father, Stanley, a knighthood when he was PM but thankfully it was blocked. He can grab the headlines, but for all the wrong reasons.

The sad part is it's not been blocked, at least as far as I know. Its traditional that the outgoing PM nominates honours I think, so it will be interesting to see what Sunak does with this.

Johnson loves headlines and his popularity is still strong.
Ex ministers will happily call him a man of integrity without any media challenge and he can hold down a job while going around the world giving speeches for 1m a pop.

Jonny, I thought it had been blocked by Sunak and others, but perhaps not. Let's watch this space. I mean Stanley is such a worthy citizen to receive a knighthood, after all he's famous for appearing on Celebrity Gogglebox, surely that alone warrants a top accolade. On a serious note, what has this chancer ever done to earn a knighthood apart from being someone's dad?

Tragic that the Tories have a far better chance of winning the next GE with Boris at the helm than Sunak.
Thats because the Press love the clown and the Fkwits that voted for them last time and voted for Brexit will swallow the pigs swill produced by the right wing Press.
For Trump = Boris. Popularism. Disgusting.

I thought the current PM has refused to comment on 'speculation', even though he will know precisely whether BJ has nominated his dad, or not.

As Starmer said, "for services to what exactly?"

Isn't his list 100 people long and his dad is just one of many, many cronies/mates/favours returned??

He's already given his brother a knighthood
If the reports are to be believed - his sister is also on the list.

I remember Johnson's mother's memoirs describing the amount of times Stanley used to beat her. Beatings which were witnessed by Johnson up to his early teens.
Always good to respect the patriarch

In fairness, given Starmer's desire to reform the Lords this may be a bit of a poisoned chalice for Sunak.

political honours are mostly about keeping the ruling establishment in position and the masses funding the system. I would never have aluded to this 10 years ago when I was working and a closet conservative.thinking making money was the key to get us out of poverty ... now retired 8 years I can view the world from a more balanced position and realise the errors of my thinking. The redistribution of wealth is a must for social equality

He is an @rsehole of the worst kind but for some reason people are gullible enough to believe his nonsense.
He is also everything that is wrong with political privilege and the way it allows those in power to bestow honours etc on people that are unfit to hold a position of any kind, but who can then lord over future generations.
