Yep.. there was a bloke.. late 50’s 2 rows back from me. Typical thick as sh1t type. Heard him boo so I turned around and told him to shut up… got a glare back but he couldn’t say a thing back to me.

I think most of us go to support our team.. not to listen to utter morons get upset at a team of professional sportsmen and role models showing a gesture against racism.

I’ve seen people post on here say that when people boo a gesture against racism, they’re not being racist… in that case could you explain why you think they are booing? Remember it’s a simple gesture against racism.

You verbally abusing a fellow fan is far worse than any booing that happened. I don’t agree with the taking the knee now but I don’t boo but some people do. It’s their choice and not in any bit racist

So you’ve chosen to read my post but not answer my question.

So please tell me if someone booing a simple anti racist gesture isn’t being racist.. why are they doing it?

And if I saw someone being racist away from a football stadium I’d happily call them out so give over with the ridiculous statements and trying to take the higher ground.

You’re making a fool of yourself.. I’m guessing you aren’t racist but there are racists who will boo and you’re certainly enabling these racists by defending their rights to be scum.
 
People can’t seem to discern that being criticised or called racist for booing doesn’t mean they should be thrown in prison for hate crimes.

Yes it’s a free country, boo if you want, and be prepared to be called racist by lots of people who don’t boo, deal with it it’s a free country.

FWIW I don’t know whether taking the knee is achieving anything anymore but just because it may be a waste of ten seconds doesn’t mean I would boo. I don’t usually wear a poppy but I don’t boo the Last Post!

I’m not sure this thread is a big enough sample of evidence, but anyway, wasn’t really my point, my point was that even if you’re unsure, why boo? I’m not sure using a dock leaf on a nettle sting really achieves much but I don’t boo people doing it.

Even if you think it isn’t a good thing because it continues to cause division between fans I don’t see how booing helps.

All you can really do is try to come up with alternatives. Unless you don’t want them, of course.
