Bolasie- doubts remain about him signing

There’ll always be a doubt until a deal is done. He’s a very good player, at our level, so others will be interested, but purse strings are being pulled tight by most clubs. There’ll be brinksmanship on every deal, but we do have a good chance of getting him. There are probably half a dozen clubs who could easily outbid us (eg parachute clubs, low prem clubs) who might well do that, if they want him.
Fingers crossed. I like him a lot

Was supposed to come in today wasn’t he? I believe his wage demands are proving very problematic to this getting over the line. 2 year deal not the issue - just how much he allegedly wants.
Everyone knows deals are normally done at the end of the month...you know nearer payday...👍
Don't worry Nosmo he'll be here soon enough 👍

I really want to see him playing at the Riverside it's why we pay among the highest season ticket prices at this level to see top players play and Bolasie is a X factor player at this level

nonetheless it’s worrying that players who are looking to join are holding out until the last possible moment to sign.

He will be contracted at Everton until June 30th, so paid by them until then (Or a part from us if part of the loan agreement).
His new contract will start from as soon after that date as he signs. I'd expect he will hold out until June 30th to see whether a better deal emerges and then if not, then sign a contract that pays him here from July 1st 2021 to 30th June 2023.

I would love to see him back. That said I wouldn't want to be held to ransom.

I imagine he's wanting a minimum of 20k+ a week (after being on 80k for 4 years) for two years. He will then leave on a free aged 34. So it makes no sense whatsoever to throw everything at him.

I hope it goes through. Although I imagine he will have many offers and many are bigger hitters than us.

Trouble is waiting till end of June for contracted players means less time in training. Warnock said he wants players in before training started if possible.

Yes that's what I meant 👍

We know what we have to spend - if his agent wants a big fee say £250k + it comes out of Bolasie's wages, say £2.5k/week for 2 years. The agent works for the player not MFC. If his does not like it we find another player. There are more players than clubs.

I must be the only person on here not massively fussed either way. If he comes here on a sensible wage then we've got a decent player but I don't think he set the world alight last season either.

If he or his agent want silly money then I couldn't care less if he goes elsewhere.

He's clearly head and shoulders above any forward currently at the club...You must be mad if you're not fussed...

He is 32 year old , did ok without being awesome .
Didn't the club say they were going to set some rules ?
Only buy / bring in , young players with sell on value ?
The Brentford model .
Warnock wants hardened , experienced championship players if possible , with Hoillet , Harris , being linked. Underwhelming for me. No goals in them.
Personally I would prefer a good mix of loans and potential
Loans like Reiss Nelson , Keenan Davis , Ellis Simms , Rhys Williams , Matt Longstaff ,and potential like
Carlos Mendes Gomes , Okenabirhie , Jon Mellish ,but also proven like
Mowatt , Michael Smith , Ben Davies .
We need leaders , and the last 3 provide it .
If Fry goes , Nat Phillips would be my ideal choice as his replacement .
And maybe the dark horse would be poacher Paul Mullin , CF , to play off the big man .
Soon know what NW wants .

Is he head and shoulders above Watmore? He looks better on the eye but Watmores goals and assist stats must be better than Bolasie's for last season.

As for the other forward players well the bar isn't very high is it.

Watmore played many more games, so you can't really compare 👍
