Mr Moran's stance appears to be that in the case of his wife's pregnancy the medical profession should have proceeded with utmost caution, after all 2 lives were potentially at risk. With the benefit of hindsight he's undoubtedly correct.
However he clearly thinks that in the face of a global pandemic with hundreds of thousands of lives at risk the UK should have proceeded with 'gay abandon' and sod the consequences. Rational, joined up thinking is obviously not his strong suit which is probably why he's a cartoonist, a job with zero responsibility.

NHS and GP bashing is a major attack line at the minute. While the front bench Tories are publicly thanking our precious NHS the minions are busy going about trashing the NHS and sewing seeds of discourse and trying to get the public to join in (unfortunately with some success).
(I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Moran’s sister in law works for the antivax and disinformation pushing group HART.)
The Right really see this pandemic as the perfect opportunity to show the healthcare system is not fit for purpose and needs reforming, and they are buttering up public opinion ready to allow private and insurance based healthcare to come in and save us all, as if that’s the only option.
It’s undeniable that our healthcare system does need change and huge investment but that doesn’t mean that it has to go down the road they are going to try and take it.
If we aren’t careful and people don’t wise up to the game being played, one day we’ll wake up and have the same problems and horror stories regarding healthcare bills that we read about from the USA.
