Bob Dylan last night

Great to be in a venue that does a ‘phone free’ gig. Everyone puts their phone in a pouch. It’s locked and that’s that. As far as I could tell everyone did it.

I’d heard some grumpy stuff about Bob’s gigs so was a little apprehensive.

It was an excellent performance - band were terrific, his voice probably better than ever and did the last couple of albums justice.

Suppose if you want Blood on The Tracks you will be disappointed but he is still a master of blues.

Makes Alex Turner sound like a chatterbox mind

Was just yesterday thinking of him as the missing live Wilbury from the lineup for that awesome “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” tribute.

If his voice was good I can well imagine the gig being good, regardless of what he plays, its just that it often isn't.

His voice just works with the material he plays and will do for many a year.
I suppose I’d have liked a little bit from him in terms of conversation but, I knew what I was getting into.

Can’t imagine what that tour must have been like when he went out with Van Morrison as support - right bag of laughs :D

The venue was sensational tho - last time I was there was 10 years ago to see Arctic Monkey’s - when they weren’t dicking about.
They’d come off the back of playing to 80000 in Glasto to 3000 - they were fantastic.
