Board censorship

I really appreciate the stellar work done by the moderators to keep this Boro board the best and open football discussion forum on the net.

It also makes sense to avoid predjucing any ongoing investigations leading to prosecution.

In the current political climate, where obvious Westminster corruption and police collusion is rife, I am worried about certain subjects having blanket bans.

I would have much preferred the thread regarding the current Manchester United player to have been left to continune with maybe the name of the footballer masked/redacted.

The name could have been changed on existing posts and added to the swear filter to avoid future use.

The good people of this board do a really good job of policing themselves and any calling out of misuse of the freedom of speech.

This is Britain in the 21st century. Let's move forward, not backward.

Just saying like 👍

I noticed the story of two City players accused of multiple rape has resurfaced on Newsnow today.

I think a general discussion on here has merit, without the whers and whens

I see Nicola Sturgeon has called on the SPFL to take action over Goodwillie signing for Raith Rovers.

Surely we can mention this fiend's name seeing as he was found guilty of Rape in a civil case.

People forget that there is an ongoing case against another MU player that has conviently been allowed to drop off the news pages.

Sunlun continued playing Adam Johnson far too long up until he changed his plea and allowing him to earn 1000s

These players are enjoying too much protection whilst the (alleged) victims are made to suffer over and over again.

The whole thing stinks.

I don't think anyone is saying we can't mention his name Cogeur. But people are discussing his 'guilt' before he's even been charged never mind convicted.

The guy has the right to a fair trial, whatever we think about his likely guilt or innocence. It really is as simple as that. Social media covered with opinion doesn't help that process.

Let's not discuss individual cases, but let's dicuss the culture of victim blaming and asset protection.

Is a valid point and I didn't. On the subject of victim blaming. Its, unfortunately, unavoidable in our adversarial legal system, as distasteful as it is.

The presumption of innocence is needed to avoid innocent people going to jail. The flip side is that plenty of guilty people walk free. It's a price worth paying, in my opinion.

Also we can't ignore young rich footballers being an attraction for gold diggers

Oh ouch, again whilst that is true, I am sure, is the problem not, at least in part, that these young men are cossetted, millionaires at a very young age and are not used to being told no? Are their parents partly to blame? I don't know but I suspect so. Dads living vicariously through their sons and ignoring danger signs.

I dunno, maybe as a society we ae starting to believe we can take whatever we want.

That's it right there.

They've hardly ever been told no in their lives when it comes to activities outside of football.
