Bloody Bausor.......

Does a great job of importing wine, cheese and clothes too apparently.
Thanks for that! I thought he'd gone by then, TBH. I did a Google search a few months ago to try and find some info on him/Boro recruitment staff and never found this.

You do seem to have strong feelings about Gary Gill - do you know what his job entailed exactly? Was he scouting players? Getting deals done/completed? Was he hand-picking players himself and then buying them off the cuff? Because he gets a lot of sh*t thrown at him, as does Bausor. But I've asked this on here before - is anyone able to explain the intricacies of their jobs and what they do on a day-to-day basis? It feels like some people think Bausor and Gill are doing the business on their own while the managers and chairman just sign the cheques or pick the wrong team.

It intrigues me as to what many fans believe Bausor does. It’s evident on this thread. He has zero input in deciding who we try to sign. Zero. Yet somehow he is being assessed alongside members of our recruitment team over the years, including Scott as the latest addition.
I always laugh when fans say that x is a poor coach, how the hell would any of us know!?

As I understand it, Bausor has no say whatsoever with the transfers. It's his job to negotiate the deal, make sure it is financially viable for Boro and that all FFP legalities are met. That's it. So if the selling club or agent starts taking the p*ss, or the player starts dragging his heels waiting for a better offer to come in he can turn around and tell them to stick it. Can't understand a lot of fans moaning like chuff about not paying way over the odds for players no-one has heard of. Bausor is doing a good job, no problems here. Hopefully Scott will add to the team and help the recruitment side. All looking positive 👍

He is provided a budget for a player and negotiates within that delegated authority. Blaming him for who we sign or who we fail to sign is like blaming Warnock for the concourse running out of beer.

I see him as the rubber seal man the cheque book as were.

This deserves to be read by as many people as possible, or at least those who blame him for any transfer frustrations.

It was the same with Keith Lamb, who I believe represented the club really well and helped secure some incredible transfers.

Woefully ill-equipped to operate a fax machine mind, but no ones perfect.
