Is to replace "Follow the science"

Thing is, we all saw this coming. We knew Cummings was setting up the excuse for all the mismanagement of the crisis on someone else with his "follow the science" line. How come the scientists themsleves weren't smart enough to realise they were being set up as the scapegoats?

I never thought I could get more disgusted by the way this governemnet acts. They always surprise me though.

Ultimately SAGE reports will need to be released to the public domain so parliament can read, both the minutes and the generated advice.

I am not sure, from a legal perspective, what reasons the government could have for redacting reports and I would fully expect Starmer to be on top of this given his profession.

Then you will get whistle blowers who feel they are being scapegoated, in the event that is what has happened. You cannot use NDA's to libel someone. Not sure about the official secrets act though. However the official secrets act does not cover the SAGE minutes, providing they don't contain information that could damage the UK in one of 5 ways, none of which I can see applying.

I do hope you're right and the government get held to account for what has happened. My fear is the current mood of the electorate is they won't stand for it. Cummings has whipped enough of them up into a frenzy they seem to feel they have to defend Johnson come what may. I don't understand this but it's true.

Inevitable wasn't it?

What do people expect with this lot. Anyone who was duped into voted for them should be feeling pretty embarrassed right now.

Anyone who did so knowing what they're like, but who voted for them anyway, should be ashamed.

But unfortunately they aren't....one or two on here.

They should be. Shame, or the humility required to feel it, really doesn't seem to be something in their kitbag.
