Blackpool fan killed Saturday

Was unfortunate enough to see some early videos before i knew of the incident.

I hope it hits home to fans that still wish to fight over a football team that the consequences can be deadly.

RIP

Very, very sad

Can we be a bit careful here?
The OP says 'after being attacked by Burnley fans'
Unless I'm missing something we don't know how he became involved

The OP says 'after being attacked by Burnley fans'
The 55-year-old had been found with a serious head injury outside The Manchester bar on the Promenade in Blackpool at about 19:00 GMT on Saturday, Lancashire Police said.
Supporters had clashed following the Blackpool v Burnley match.
Police officers had administered CPR before Mr Johnson was taken to hospital.

Edit -
I've seen claims on Twitter than Burnley fans had knives/weapons but without any evidence of this claim, left it out of the post.

Edit 2 -
Looking on a Burnley forum, a couple fans seem to think this will taint the great season they're having on the pitch. Again, we don't know the full story just yet.

Utter morons. The lad probably just loved watching his local side!

I played football Saturday and the assistant manager from the opposition came onto the pitch and threatened one of my players, followed by the linesman who ran 50 yards to punch him. My lad kick the living bells out of the lino and the game was abandoned...... the league are taking no action against either the linesman nor the assistant manager!

Its a football match and people are wielding punches around...... seriously pathetic.

The lad was involved in a 15 man brawl and was throwing punches himself, there's a video although I've not seen it myself and I don't know how it all started but it appears nobody was blameless. All 15 should be charged with his death.

Nano - the guy has died - best to be respectful and not go on any kind of hearsay. Whatever the circumstances he has lost his life.

Disgraceful. This is shocking and underlines the awful nature of some football rivalries.

I hope they go down for a long time.

It isn't hearsay..... the video is online (Twitter). He is an aggressor sadly and ends up amongst 4/5 young lads and one cracks him.
More details emerging that the pub was an away fans designated pub and a group of Blackpool fans went there looking for trouble, and found it.

Disgraceful behaviour from all concerned, lifetime bans will hopefully be given to all involved.
