So why the "But china" thing? Are you nto part of mankind? Do you not want to do you bit. I assume given you like to throw petty insults around on a provincial football clubs forum, that you don't have the ear of Xi Jinping to influence? So, what are you doing, as part of mankind, to combat climate change? Set the example we all need.
Do not misquote me, i never said ‘but China’
However, i listed several countries and states that are doing little if anything to slow down the rate of increase that are responsible for 2/3rds of global emissions, I pointed to you the facts that the UK is responsible for little in comparison. I never once said people shouldn’t do what they can, you interpreted comments quite wrongly. The vast majority of the UK will be unable to afford to do much like buy an EV, solar panels, ineffective heat pumps, property insulation, all midst a cost of living crisis. The Government doesn’t have a pot to pi$$ in and will likely increase taxation to just get by, thanks to one of the national leaders and his tariffs. Many that create emissions, create personal and national wealth by doing so, they do not care a jot about climate change as it wont affect them in whats left of their lives too negatively, or so they assume.
You wanted to know what I am personally doing, well, I am holidaying in the UK this year, recycling my waste as required, property is reasonably insulated, the thermostat was down 2 degrees over winter, I walk more and drive less, I tend to use public transport rather than drive distances over 50 mile one way. I pay my taxes to help others, shop for 2 elderly neighbours who occasionally come round to visit on a weekend, to help them save on their heating bills despite the fact she is a Chelsea fan. I eat less beef and look for ethical clothing where i can and buy stuff from charity shops on occasion. It may not be lots but like many people, I do what is practical and currently affordable. Many are not as lucky as I consider I am, nor as well educated, but that isn’t necessarily their fault. Richer people like those that are lucky enough to afford EV’s, solar panels, new heat pumps and the like should spare a thought for those without the means to plan ahead and some should help others less fortunate more than they probably do, a little help goes a long way if done with kindness and care.
