Blackburn FA Cup Ticket Details

Could it encourage people to buy a half season ticket, perhaps?
It is a £3 saving off a season ticket possibly more if we get through. Its probably hard to get a half price ST now as Sheff Wed home game is all but sold out and its part of the ST package.

As a regular critic of Boros pricing, the difference in pricing for this game doesn't really bother me.

It sort of indicates that Boros model is to try and encourage as many people to be a ST holders as possible. We already know that by the pricing strategy. £30 for me to take my 2 lads seems fine for this game. £25 for ST holders, not gonna squabble over £5. It's not like league matches when I have to pay £75 which is around £25 more than other championship fans and as much as £45 more than the cheapest.

What does annoy me, is why charge a premium for new STs if the model is to try and encourage as many fans as possible to buy an ST.

It will also be interesting to see what Blackburn fans are paying. The ST rate or the non ST rate.

And here we have it - the arrogance, self interest, and fck everybody else attitude of your season card holder
Hardly, it’s like businesses haven’t been doing member offers for decades around the world.

Why should MFC be any different?

I'm buying a ticket for the points but can't go as am away anyway so fo anyone wants a free ticket let me know

Are you not getting a £5-7 discount every league game?

Ultimately I spend more being an ST holder.

If I weren't, I wouldn't come to every match. When the stupid kick off times, the horrible weather and bad performance come around, I would find myself staying at home from time to time.

However, I find myself renewing each year because the club make it good value to do so.

And then, as I have the ticket, I turn up each time.

I spend more and turn up more as a result of the pricing policy.

I don't see it as a discount though: I pay the normal price.
If you only want to turn up for the 3pm matches, decent weather or big occasions, fair enough, but you're paying a pickers-and-choosers premium, I'm not getting a discount.

Wonderful post.

Should be same cheap tickets for all, I want the club to thrive not just keep ticking over, You see it around the country over the years some clubs reach out to its fans so it's not only the usual people who come, but extra fans who may not have a habit for going or strong connection to the club, some clubs also go into the surrounding areas to develop their support, and by this I mean, Stockton, Bellingham, East Cleveland and Northern parts of North Yorkshire and close South Durham areas where we could boost our profile and links, as well as strengthening ties in strongholds such as Bigger Boro, thornaby and Redcar.
Charlton did it about 15 years ago when they were higher up the league, they recognised that they were competing against some other clubs for support and they reached out to nearby towns in Kent and started to get younger fans going through with ticket offers and ramped up supporters clubs starting up aimed at younger people.
At very least the club should be using this match to try and make connections and get younger fans in, in my lifetime they have been really poor at doing stuff like that, it seems apart from inside the stadium, the success of the club and players then there is no other active high profile way they are reaching out to young fans in the areas where they could boost the Boro profile.and allegiances to the club.

Decent enough prices. I guess if I'm going to be pedantic they could have made it £10 adult ST holders and £15 non-ST holders.

If we're going to be honest though I can't imagine that would lead to another 5-6 thousand more being added onto the crowd. We'd probably still have got a crowd of 20k max.

Crowd will be 17/18k

At least Boro have done something to incentivise fans. Suppose they can't win with this one.

For a 3 o clock I would have travelled up, but can't make it because of my lads footy kicking off at 10 (in Manchester).

Re the pricing, the £3 is a matter of principle, that's all. When I had my ST we got one free game, which was fine. I was going to every home game so by having a ST it simply guaranteed my seat.....or spot on the Holgate. Priority for cup games, that was it. But at no point at all would I have expected someone stood/sat next to me to pay more simply because of circumstances they couldn't afford/justify a ST.

The club either have a high % of ST Uber fans who would moan at riff raff attending the game paying the same as them, or they don't get how the pricing structure is alienating/p*ssing off a lot of long standing fans who for whatever reason can't justify a ST.

PR at Boro is absolutely bollox at present.

MFC is different - it is privately owned.
They are also different to many football clubs.
High ST and walk up prices for the product on offer.
Few concessions.

Other championship clubs do it differently - more concessions, better pricing, and free away travel.

People can defend or criticise the difference - its up to them.

To gloat about the ST benefits it because you can afford it - pretty low (but that is just my opinion)

And those that can’t afford an ST can just get to fook - I don’t give a sheet

They would not **** of ST holders. There is no snobbery towards walk up fans amongst ST holders. You do, however, risk losing our support if you continue to paint us as pantomime villains like this.

Nor would it **** of ST holders if the gap between walk up prices and STs were narrowed. As I said, no one would kick off about it. All that would happen is that a few thousand, when asking themselves if they should renew each year, would quietly decide becoming a walk up fans, attending less often, and paying less over all was right for them

You say we don't 'get' you, but if you believe what you have written, you don't understand us either.
