Protests in London turning a bit sour now with fighting breaking out with the Police.

social distancing being ignored amongst a group who we know are at a higher risk of dieing from covid than others. I know people fee strongly about what occurred in America, we all do but could this group in London not have found a safer , more peaceful way to protest at this time. What we don’t need now is anarchy on our streets.

It's naive to think it's just about George Floyd. It's that and a combination of years of racial profiling, lack of opportunity, constantly looking over their shoulders, unemployment, oh and I imagine a lot of them have had enough of lockdown.

Without knowing this demonstration was taking place, I said to my dad today that the right to protest gets lost due to 'rent a mob' attaching themselves to peaceful demonstrations and causing havoc.

I said much the same as Randy said to my wife earlier this evening
It’s disgraceful how as a group black peole are continually persecuted - hopefully this is the straw that broke the camels back. It’s easy for me to whinge about bad timing and their lack of social distancing - that’s my selfish perspective. However it feels like now everybody is saying enough is enough!

Agreed George Floyd is the latest in a long list spanning decades.

Personally I could never guess what it's like to live life as young black man. The more you think about it the more stressful it must be.
These young men can literally be stopped and questioned about being shifty purely because of their skin colour. I can't begin to imagine how that feels, feeling like you are constantly being judged by the authorities.

even more so in America - with the fear that one slight wrong move - or not even a wrong move could lead to you being executed. There is one that stands out for me that send shivers down my spine - I don’t know if you’ve seen the footage where the guy is apprehended with his gf in a hotel corridor - he is on his knees and completely compliant with the cop who ends up shooting him anyway!

They are taught that from a very young age. My wife has had 3 year-olds in her class and their parents have taught them that already. It's heartbreaking.

Mate I've seen all sorts over the past few days on Twitter (verified), liveleak and some, shall we say, less popular websites.

St Louis, police actually retreating after a gun battle at night at an intersection. Like a literall warzone.
Or the video of a really badly painted police 4x4 dropping off bricks on an alleyway, inciting the violence on the night. The pallets of bricks are appearing all over America by the way and that isn't a conspiracy theory, it's just not reported on MSM.

Also videos of white folks pilling up outside looted shops and businesses, posing for a selfie, then jumping back in their cars and driving off. Disgusting stuff.

Be interesting to see what audience he gets.

Something mentioned earlier about racism in USA, there was a black American man now living in Manchester on the news tonight saying that he thought racism was worse in this country, he described it as being more subtle.

I added Gilet Jaunes and took it out of my post.

I got caught up in one of their demonstrations at the start of Christmas in 2018 whilst stuck in a traffic jam. It was really peaceful at first and then the police turned up. The dual carriageway was set on fire, a few cars damaged and we had to do a U-turn and go the other way.

Two days later We past the same spot with demonstrators on, was given a Pastis for our signature, wished a Bon Noel and waved off.

Warning, this is tough to watch. This is bigger than we are been led to believe. This is Fox News too. Trump's favourite news corporation.

A 14 year old girl has stood with a homemade banner on Trimdon Ave close to the traffic lights to Acklam Road for a week, since this whole sorry affair started. She has been noticed and more people are just joining her, I plan to tomorrow, keeping to social distancing rules of course. What a sad world we live in when we rely on 14 year olds to put us right. She is determined and quite sure she would welcome anyone who wishes to join her .

Conservatives are already posturing the 2nd wave in those riots

Opportunistic at best racist at worst
Those beating those who are legitimately protesting with the coronavirus stick are part of the problem and quite frankly in my eyes, scumbags.
