Binns closing down

I'd much rather shop online than drive into town, pay for parking, walk round a load of shops and probably pay 30% premium on the online price.

Surprised someone hasn't blamed teesside park yet.

Same, the free parking options in Middlesbrough are helpful if I’m on my own but when you add to that the horrendous language you hear walking around town centres, along with the drink or drugged up idiots that appear on an afternoon I’d much rather keep my young children away rather than take the family.

Yes because while everyone is struggling with soaring inflation and the cost of living let’s tax them abit more and make them even more skint. Sounds like a great idea.
If it encourages people to use the hi street there would be less empty shops etc.

Obvious really.

Unless you are a selfish Tory ****

Many shop online because of convenience and time pressures id expect that price isn’t a major factor for most . For me it’s because I live at least 30mins from a town centre meaning it wouldn’t work for me. If I were penalised (taxed more) for shopping online it would just reduce my disposable income and would cost local restaurants as I’d likely eat out far less for instance.

It is nothing to do with toryness or being selfish it’s using your brain and realising theres more than one factor influencing peoples shopping decisions.

Agree with this, Middlesbrough is an awful place to voluntarily spend an afternoon.
