Bilsdale switch on day

They're gonna give vouchers to people with no signal to buy a streaming device, so that's one possible option if it helps.
The cynic in me feels this is what its all about anyway. Basically forcing people into paying for TV. I'm pretty sure Rupert Murdoch was seen walking in the Cleveland Hills carrying a large can of petrol on or around the 10th of August too!

right how come ive just programmed a freeview box in at knaresborough at my partners and it has picked up every freeview channel including BBC Tees and Tyne Tees yet in my old bedroom at me mams on Acklam Road i get about 12-15 channels??

Probably because Middlesbrough is too much in the shadow the Cleveland Hills for a paltry 80m "temporary" transmitter. In fact its an absolute disgrace that the UK's thirteenth largest urban area is so poorly served for both TV and radio compared to, say, rural Durham & rural North Yorkshire.

I spoke to freeview people as I still only get a very limited range of channels, bbc1,2 itv 3, c4 and 5 only watchable on HD, so no local news but they told me I don't live in a 'not' zone so not eligible for voucher. My Dad can have an engineer visit due to his age but not sure what they will do as they couldn't tell him

Was that the freephone number on the Bilsdale website?

From what I understand, it's just a home visit and the engineer will try to retune the TV for him. Maybe repoint the aerial, but not sure on that one. And if that doesn't help, next step is the Currys voucher.

Thanks for that. It was the freephone number. Already been told we don't qualify for voucher as our postcode is not on their list. It is in Thornaby so don't know where qualifies.

also in my car i can pick up BBC Newcastle, Humberside and even Sheffield clear as day in Knaresborough but Tees .. nothing
