Billy Eilish at Glastonbury

Thought BE was excellent. Remember listening to her first album a few years and never going back to it but that was a proper performance. Didn't need the flashy set pieces, special guests in my opinion.

Thought Supergrass were superb, enjoyed the last two Sam Fender songs (despite having never heard of him). Watching Phoebe Bridgers now, excellent emotionally charged set given the events in the US yesterday.

Big Thief tonight, cannot wait 👍

I'm actually laughing at this thread....I've become my parents when I was younger, totally slating the music i enjoyed, and i always said I'd never become like that 🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's happened to me. My niece is 15 and everytime she has Spotify on I'll say 'good god what's this?' 😂

Whilst banging on about the 'glory years' of Britt pop in the 90s. I still listen to the Verve / Oasis / Charlatans and stone Roses. Definitely stuck in the past lol.

The only two acts I enjoyed tonight were Phoebie Bridgers and Sam Fender.

Watched St. Vincent earlier and I just didn’t get it, sounded terrible.

Phoebe Bridgers was the highlight on Day 1 for me - by a street mile
Just an outstanding singer songwriter at the top of her game

Honourable mentions to Foals, Rufus Crowded House and
Not a fan of Billy but thought she did a great job
Wet Leg don’t do it for me

I was hoping for a bit of heaton and abbot somewhere tonight but haven't seen any yet
They are or were on the acoustic stage, I don't think there's any coverage which is a shame because there's a great line up on there over the weekend including the waterboys

Looked through the line up as I do each year, think I counted over 40 stages and at least 30-40 acts I would pay to see, and probably another 30 I didn't know I liked yet
If you can't find anything you like maybe music is just not for you no matter how much your friends go on about it.😉

Music is subjective, so some acts not for everyone. Personally, thought it was a bit "meh" yesterday. The BBC coverage is shyte so limited to catching bits from bands I like.
Billy Eilish? Not my cup of tea, but she and the crowd looked like they had a good time so job done👍

My daughter loved Billie Eilish. I watched a bit, but the red wine was making it hard for me to concentrate on it, so I put the cricket highlights on instead!

As for Glastonbury so far. It's great to see loads of girls front and centre. Wet Leg, Little Simz and Wolf Alice have been the best I've seen so far.

That website shows how much of a massive event it is. Well done for those involved. It must take some planning and organising!

I'll give any music a fair listen and sometimes you just have to say "it just doesn't grab me" or perhaps "I don't get it", it doesn't make that music shight. If everyone at Glastonbury only wanted to see Billy E the rest of the place would be empty. The crowd for Foals on Other and Primal Scream on John Peel shows you the variation in tastes even among the crowd with tickets.

Oddly, I've loved just about everything Wet Leg have released but thought they weren't great on the telly though the crowd seemed to be well up for it, they were first up on Park which can be a quiet slot. I've walked up to the barrier on the Pyramid Stage for the first act on a Friday and stood there leaning in my tod for quite a while, so they drew a big crowd who were enjoying themselves.

Odd to think that Sam Fender played Stockton Georgian Theatre but yesterday was sub-headliner on the Pyramid Stage.

In fairness to the good folk of fmttm there was a thread earlier on in the week where presumably mostly middle aged men were raving about the new Harry Styles album 😂

So might be a more open minded group when it comes to music than we give ourselves credit for.

BBC have the biggest 5 stages streaming live from start to finish. That’s not shyte.

Shame the acoustic stage isn’t added to this list but it’s pretty comprehensive.

There will be 90 full set’s available after the event too. So you can catch up anything you miss. Hopefully something from acoustic stage will be available then.

Great coverage.

Exactly what more can the beeb really do they have basically given you the full sets for all 5 key stages for “free”. Plus the best of the rest will be shown.

It has been excellent. Some is even in 4K

Some people just like to moan
