Biggest football and musical regrets?

Football - Missing out on the Uefa Cup Final tickets. Even though we lost I can imagine it must have been a great occasion, and great to be able to say 'I was there'.

Musical - I had tickets to see Sex Pistols in Manchester but was ill and couldn't go to the gig.

Cracking question

Football, I would have to say Fulham away in the ASC final & WHU in the FAC SF, I had a ticket but for personnel reasons I gave it away, otherwise I would have been to every SF & final in my time as a Boro fan

Music, I wanted to see Altered Images in their prime at Bridlington but never went & missing out on the Undertones at the Rock Garden

I'd say my Uncle would have been at that gig. He went to loads of gigs at the Rock Garden and was there for the infamous Sex Pistols gig.

At least he got to see them :sneaky:

Not seeing Roxy Music from the very beginning. My late brother saw them in 1971 when they were just starting out.

Also bitterly regret being too mean to pay what was then a huge price of £7.50 for a ticket for a David Bowie gig.......

Saw Roxy at The Redcar Jazz Club when they were support to a Jimi Hendrix file. Rainbow Bridge I think. Was the Bowie one at the Town Hall. Brilliant show to a not huge crowd.

I could have got tickets for England v Scotland for Euro 96 but decided to see the England v Germany instead. Not a bad alternative, but I think the Scotland one would have been better with THAT goal by Gazza

Missed the Pogues while they were in their heyday back in 1988 cos I was too ***ed to go OOOPS

I think it was at the Town Hall, yes. £7.50 was about twice the going rate for most gigs in those days but I should have gone.

Missed REM supporting U2 in 1985 at Croke Park in Dublin as was in beer tent with my brother.

Then about early 90s missed Radiohead supporting James in York Barbican . Again in the bar

Without doubt Wolves v Boro May 1992 and James in concert, as a combined event too

I had my ticket, my train booked and was so looking forward to this game, what could go wrong?

Well, it turned out everything. Unbeknownst to me, darker powers were afoot. I was provided with a surprise long weekend away in Frankfurt and tickets to watch James in concert, a group that I thought of as ‘meh’ but nothing more. They were of course our lasses favourite group. Happy days, I was a complete misery all weekend and weirdly, the result made me more so for missing out.

Now what was that 10cc song, ah yes, the things we do for love, although it was nearly another at the time
