I didn't realise that it was Saudi Arabia who asked for a feasibility study into holding a biennial world cup and that the original idea was muted by Sep Blatter some 20 years back.
The idea is to raise funds to raise the standards of football in developing countries. Each world cup earns FIFA around 6 billion in broadcasting and commercial deals. I am all for developing football across the globe but not at the cost of damaging football in other parts of the world.
It also makes you wonder exactly how much FIFA is sitting on if they make 6 billion at each world cup.

Blatter saw that his power base wasn’t in Europe but in Africa Asia and Oceana where he had more than enough votes to keep him in power so long as he gave them benefits like er… money and tournaments. Infantino needs to court this powerful lobby and therefore the interests of European and SA teams are put to one side when it comes to football’s developing nations who want a biennual World Cup

It's a definite yes from me. I love the world cup and don't feel it coming around every 2 years would devalue it in the slightest (for me personally anyway). I would always be as excited as ever for a new season after waiting a couple of months and that comes around every year, so can't see me not being excited having to wait almost 2 full years, it is still a long time really.
Club football is almost ruined for me now with all the mega rich clubs in the game, feels like we have nothing to play for anymore. England i can actually get excited for as we have a slim chance to win something. Plus the reduction in international breaks during the season for a one off qualifying tournament sounds much more appealing than the current drawn out process which is pretty boring.
Hadn't heard about the not being able to qualify for consecutive world cups rumour mentioned above though, if that was the case it would be a no from me.

In my opinion, what you are saying yes for is the same thing that is killing club football.

Maybe i haven't thought it through or enough about it but i really don't see that? If you mean oversaturation of football then yeah i can see your point, but wouldn't necessarily agree as it is still a once every two year event.
If it is in relation to the money in football, which i think is killing club football, then yes although FIFA are obviously doing this to make more money primarily, but it's not like that money they make can be used to strengthen only the top footballing countries, making it a closed shop due to being super rich (admittedly there is probably less than 10 teams that could realistically win the world cup atm but at least that can still change).
What about the Euros and other continental championships?
Something has to give somewhere and increasing the number of world cups will almost inevitably lead to the loss of other proud competitions with long histories that add something different to the international calendar.
A bloated corporate WC every two years would quickly get dull as FIFA try to squeeze every last penny out of it in their mission to sideline UEFA and get in on their revenues.

If that was the case and we were to lose another competition for it then i would happily change my mind and vote no. I just don't see that happening though. The 4 year cycle would be WC, Euro's, WC, Copa America, with 2 Africa cup of nations thrown in there as they are now. I assume the other continents have there own competitions too but i don't know about them and it appears it is the Asia/Africa market that are most in favour of the proposals as well.
I'll admit my point of view is based selfishly because i absolutely love the world cup, but my opinion would very easily change if i thought any proposals would be to the detriment of international football as a whole. I haven't yet seen that though.

I believe the proposals would mean the Euros would be put back one year and happen every 4 years from 2029 onwards. The qualifiers would be a league tournament played in a one month block in october/november each year prior to the world cup. I don't know on the Nations League but would guess it would either be reduced or scrapped so there is less games for player welfare.
Agree 48 teams is horrendous
