Best Wishes To 2 Very Sick Covid Patients at James Cook

'We currently have two younger patients with worrying COVID pneumonitis who we are hoping will avoid ICU admission. They are in their 30’s and 40’s and unusually have no underlying health problems. Such patients can often deteriorate very quickly and leaving them on the ward always worries us a little.' Consultant Dr Cree.

Awful news, hope they make a speedy and full recovery. And hopefully this will be a warning to many people who continue ignore the rules and do as they please. I really would like to see my family at Christmas.

Careful Rob, the usual suspects will be along to tell you you're lying, just a mild cold for the under 80s remember.

Everyone seems to be catching it this time around, I know multiple people with it already.
I knew no one personally during the first wave and in the last week, 3 work coleagues have tested +ve. One of them, I know, is not asymptomatic and while he isnt in hospital, hes felt pretty poorly from it. Im just glad Id taken the monday off on the day he was in and started showing symptoms... The other 2 in my department have had to self isolate and im covering their work just now...

the other 2 that are +ve are younger and hopefully dont have too much problem shaking it...

Hope these young guys pull through.

I've got it, did the test yesterday, result this morning = positive. Currently, feeling just a little snotty and have a slightly elevated temperature, my sense of smell has nearly gone. Under normal circumstances I wouldn't even stay off work. Fortunately I have made sure that I have been nowhere near my 93 year-old Dad.

Stay safe everyone this hasn't gone away, just wear a mask please.

Best wishes Muttley 👍

Best wishes to both of you. If you don't mind my asking, have you any idea how you caught it? You both seem very careful. Touch wood, other than people on here, I don't know anyone who has had it, and most people I know don't either.

Thanks everyone. Smooth recovery Jam lad.

Pretty sure I know how I got it. My son had been on holiday in Turkey and returned last Monday, he's been staying with us after getting stuck as the first wave struck when he was between contracts (poor bloke). He felt ill on Thursday night got a test on Friday but the result didn't come until Monday (marvellous, "World Beating", etc.) by then both myself and the good Lady Mutt were both feeling unwell, and we booked tests for Monday morning. The Good Lady also tested +ve and is suffering with aches and pains. Oddly my son's girlfriend has not shown symptoms and has tested -ve.

Thanks muttley and others for the kind words. Can't really put my finger on where I might have caught it. Hopefully i won't feel much worse than I do now.

Oh dear sorry to hear that. Very best wishes for a speedy and full recovery.
