Best live album ever recorded.

Live Lp’s can sometimes disappoint, but I’m currently re listening to Stop Making Sense by Talking Heads and a lot of the live versions of songs are better than the original studio versions.

What’s your favourite live album?
Stop Making Sense is superb. The movie is my favourite one of a live show. It's a shame that the initial release of the album was just as a single album rather than a double.

My favourite live album I'm not sure of. It'd have to be one of the well known doubles from the 70s like UFO Strangers in the Night or one of stacks of Zappa releases.

Yeah the movie is brilliant, I saw it at a midnight showing in a cinema back in the 80’s, brilliant night out.

Zappa was pretty prolific in releasing live albums, second only to the grateful dead.

Hmmm - I have a few favourites

Honourable mention: Johnny Cash - At Folsom Prison
Runner up: Ramones - It's alive
Winner: Allman Brothers Band - At Filmore East

My uncle was ahuge fan of Allman Brothers and played them a lot (we spent quite a bit of time at my Grandmothers place. It stuck with me and I still play it - pretty regularly.
