Peter Crouch’s book - How to be a footballer is a good read.
Not so much as an autobiography but Shackleton’s book South is unbelievable and will leave you astonished at what they accomplished. It wasn’t until recently I realised that Shackleton’s right hand man Frank Wild was from Skelton.
Not a autobiography as such, but SPIKE, AN INTIMATE MEMOIR by Norma Farnes (his agent/manager) is a very good insight to the life of Milligan. She used to live in Thornaby. (And a boro fan to boot)
Jack Charlton's, very good and highly recommended.
I'm reading 'Queen of the Desert' right now, it's about Gertrude Bell, who spent the early part of her life in Redcar, and went on to do some amazing things in the late 19th and early 20th century. Incredible lady.
