Just got an E Mail from friends in Spain. Apparently, holiday makers in Benidorm have been confined to their hotel rooms. Numbers have Brits have broken the curfew and are being rounded up by the local plod.

My brothers out there at this moment Cheltenham week
We were there last year for my son in laws stag doo

we got back last night, one of the last jet2 flights out, with Spain being on the level 3 list, advice is we self isolate for 14 days....half of Boro were out there this last week, the place was rammed, a breeding ground for the virus.......

Just waiting for the government to announce a full shutdown across the country starting from Monday. Expected to be from 8am Monday morning.

Great timing. We are due to take possession of our new car on Monday.

My hubby been there all week...flew home today. The only curfew was on all bars and restaurants which had to close last night at 12 midnight. Obviously it sounds like they are gonna be going on full lock down in the next few days. I actually checked on friday about the Corona virus in Benidorm and there has not been one case, or suspected case, up til friday

New car, while you're on lock down?

It will still be there when the business opens again, stop fretting.
I have given up on getting it any time soon.

The annoying things is that the Spanish equivalent of we buy any car dot com has given me a guaranteed quote for the old one that times out on Thursday. I am guessing they will extend that.

The reason I am a bit miffed is that I transferred money across to pay for the new car. To decouple the purchase and the sale. So now I am around 6500 euros down on money here until I can sell the old car. Also, I will need the money soon to settle a tax bill.

One thing that is happening at the moment is that people from Madrid have been fleeing down to their holiday homes on the south coast of Spain.

This is happening before the full social distancing measures come in to effect tomorrow. Some parts of Spain already have measures stopping mobility. However these people escaped from the Madrid area before the lock down has been fully implemented.

I feel that this is pretty selfish as they could be infecting our region more. As some of them are likely to be carriers (with or without symptoms).

As yet we have not seen the impact of this. However I guess that there will be a big upturn in incidents soon in Andalucía and Murcia because of the migration.

First time out of the apartment today. Putting the bins out this evening. We have a different system here. Communal bins in the street. They are emptied every day but Sunday. You take your rubbish to the nearest bin(s). Separating stuff into various bins for recycling. Not a bad place to be locked down in.IMG_15032020_194243_(1080_x_1080_pixel).jpg.

That was the 2nd hole on our golf course. Taken at dusk. From near the bins.

People with dogs are allowed to walk them briefly. To allow them to have a crap. The dogs, that is. Not long walks. If you do take one out you have to do it by yourself. Maybe I should get a robot dog to allow me to get out a bit more.

Allowed to go to the supermarket. Has to be by yourself. So there might be a fight between the missus and myself to do the shopping. For a bit of a change of scenery.
