Batley and Spen

The tone of your OP coupled with your earlier GBNews thread - its quite transparent where your political leanings are.

That said you are right. Under normal circumstances Labour should be walking this constituency by election given the Governments recent performance. The fact that they are far from doing so is deeply concerning both for the Party and the country.
Sums it up. Labelled as a tory but correct. Theres no hope for Labour. Best way forward is some of the best labour MPs to drop all their baggage and join the Tories to remove all the inadequacies that currently exist.

Aren't you forgetting something? The mountain of inadequacies that fester in the Tory party. Bercow did the right thing.

Its a concept that the Marxists on here don't understand. If you are not aligned with their ideas then you have to be in the other camp. They don't judge ideas or issues in an individual basis. Its alien to them.
They are also very quick to point it out to others and use any scrap of information to prove that you are a Tory a Brexiteer or whatever.

As an example the start of the rise in inflation is all down to Brexit. Well yes some of it is but the biggest factor is the huge borrowing that has had to made to finance a COVID impacted economy. But the told you so mentality fits the narrative so well.
Choices were made by the Tories with regard to how the economy was impacted by Covid and they got them wrong.

The arguments about taxation are already starting…..

what did I say on the GB news thread or the original post that tells YOU what my political leanings are?

-or is it that you filled in a lot of blanks in your head?

The Tories have been quite clear about their intentions, vote us in and we will invest in your area. Its corrupt and immoral but self interest rules. Since Labour leadership are clearly more interested in attacking parts of their own party than challenging the Tories, people will just think they may as well votes tory and takes the crumbs on offer. I'll be amazed if Labour manage to hold this seat.

I voted for most parties SDP, Liberal, Green, Conservative (Cameron version) and Labour over the last 38 years - probably disagreeing with around 30% of what each one stands for.

As I get older I become disillusioned with centralised power which the UK is heavily into - 95% of our taxes go to central government which is just wrong.

UK society since 1979 has become increasily unequal in between income/class levels and geography. It feels to me that we are back in the Victorian age in relative terms, but a lot of people don't realise or do not want to realise or realise but feel they can't do anything about it.

The Nazis did get a lot of working class votes particularly in rural Germany and smaller towns on a levelling up agenda - they were as the name says a socialist party (unless you were Jewish, gay, disabled, non white, or just a bit different) big business had to pay up for many of their pet projects such as a holiday by the sea for every family every summer. The Volkswagen Beetle was the people's car developed at the behest of Hitler. He was a former corporal who father was a Border force official not quite the social profile of British leaders then or now.

So their fascists gave them a holiday by the sea, a peoples car and the worlds first government anti smoking campaign. Ours are giving us tax dodging Freeports, a train set and cruelly treat sheep from Australia. I can't help but feel, even as far as fascist regimes go, we are getting the short end of the stick.

Yesterday this bloke called me “hysterical“

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Oh wow. Absolute wow.
Bit dramatic.

If Bercow had really changed his political philosophy as he claims then he would have probably joined the Lib Dem's, but there'd be zero chance of any peerage there. He probably should have got one from the Tories, as every other speaker has, but its clear that he'd sell his own grandmother if he could.

Not really no. I saw that the Tories were spinning it this way on their media outlets. I was just really shocked that someone on here would be dumb enough to fall for it. I thought you were smarter than that.

BERCOW: “It isn’t in my mind, it’s not part of the game plan, I haven’t discussed it, I’m not waiting for it. What I’m motivated by is a commitment to equality, social justice and internationalism.”

Time will tell

So either the least honest, most deceitful and untrustworthy government is lying. Or the man in charge of upholding parliamentary standards for years is lying. It's a tough one isn't it?
