Just getting those int he 'Yes please' category would massively strengthen us and make us one of the biggest investors in our squads this summer.
I’m not suggesting for one minute that the whole squad is flipped with those specific players.. just putting a few mentioned names alongside where they might fit in the squad and what their role would be. It’s no surprise that you’ve went for the big name attackers.. but last season our most glaring deficiencies were in defence as well as our lack of depth in midfield. I’d probably say that Law McCabe is more likely to be Hayden Hackney’s successor and perhaps Alex Robertson is too similar in that respect. Barlaser I feel should be changed out for a more defensive midfielder.. I do like the look of Alex Robertson maybe Barlaser <> Robertson would have been more apt

In defence we seriously need to strengthen.. could Alfie Gilchrist fit on the centre of a back three? Could Alfie Jones?

Oliver Casey probably could in a much more rugged looking back line. Neto Borges looked great on that left hand side of a back three.. not sure who is dropping in there otherwise? Ethan Pye could!

Let’s just see how it pans out.. things look promising if we can get the mix right.

He could welll be in his last year at Championship level for any club - he is 36 in December. It is a nice gesture of him to say he will still at SWFC despite insecurity about wages.

Come on - more like a £1m a piece. - up front

Hamilton was a complete novice more so than Rogers who was £1m.

Burzorg was at Division 1 Huddersfield who were desperate to reduce their wage bill - would we really pay £2.5m to £3m for a player at such a club who had a an erratic goal scoring record - more like a £1m gamble/bench warmer/money ball player.

Windass is 31, but yes I would have had him on a free. Wrexham seem to be throwing a lot of money around at present (see below) , possibly they offered him a wage increase above what we pay. if we were interested.

For me - Burzorg and Hamilton were risk purchases from a relatively small amount of the profit on the sale of Rogers.

He was only on loan at Huddersfield from Mainz

Cheers Marty I forgot about the season loan, but the fact that Huddersfield were relegated with him playing and Mainz did not want him playing for them, shows his level. To me he was very much a lower squad addition and not a player we would pay nearly £3m as suggested by a earlier poster on here.

Agree bud. I don’t mind him as a squad player but he’s not a first team starter if we want to finish anywhere near the top 6 in my opinion.
