To be fair he always looks alright whenever I've seen sheff wed. I'd argue one of there best players.
That said you've rather have had him 10 years ago. Although we would probably have been saying he was too old then
Although really can't see it. I mean had we wanted a sheff wed freebie then Josh Windass would have been a far better option. 13 goals last season. I'd rather him than Bergzorg/Hamilton or Forss. Yet many said he 'wasn't good enough'.

I agree. Yet Windass on a free seems a fantastic deal when we spent the best part of 5-6mil on Hamilton and Burzorg.

Bannon has always stood out as a decent tidy, industrious player against us. He’s always had a little bit of quality. Wouldn’t want him nowadays, but I’ve never really understood how he stayed at Wednesday so long, thought he might have got an opportunity elsewhere.

5 years ago it would have been a really good signing but he’s not the mobile, high intensity player we need now. At his age he would be nothing more than a stop gap or bench option.

i know he's 35 and i'm not saying we should sign him, but there's not many in this league with a better pass completion rate even at his age.

There are hundreds who had a better pass completion rate than Bannan last season.
Dael Fry and Edmundson were two of them....

Sounds like thing are starting to move,
Brittain close to signing.
Hackney and Rav close to leaving, shame about Hackney not fussed on Rav if I'm honest with myself.
And some attacking players lined up.
Can see it being a bit all go from now on.
Hope we can move on some fringe players too and replace them with better.

Barry Banana has always struck me as one of those irritating little players that we come across when we play against them. Probably the kind of player you'd secretly like in your own squad. But not now. 10 years ago - possibly.

Brittain appears to be a really encouraging signing.
I'm gutted H is leaving, but like you am far less bothered about RVdB if the deal is lucrative.
I also agree on moving fringe players on.
I don't comment much about some of the potential recruits as I know so little about them.
The lad Sulc seems to be an exciting prospect, but really want a very good CF this window.
