Barnsley

I've always had a soft spot for Barnsley & Rotherham, noticed Rotherham have slipped back in the bottom 3 & Barnsley unbeaten in 7
Yetcwhen we played Barnsley we won 2-1, they got a late penalty but we should have been 5 up by then & total opposite v Rotherham
I certainly don't begrudge the success they're having at present

Different manager now.

Barnsley would be 4th if the season started when Valerien Ismael was appointed on the 22nd of October.

Would love Barnsley to go up, though I can't see it.

What a story it would be, especially with them only staying up last season because of Wigan's administration and a 91st minute winner on the last game of the season.

I did put some money on them to finish top half @ 6/4 before the season began. I was confident they would be top 12 after finishing last season on fire, didn't they win at Brentford to stay up when Brentford needed to win to be promoted automatically?

Yes they did & again the other week, great run club

Barnsley beat Spuds 3-1 in the 4th round......
Then took out Manure in the 5th in their only Premier League Season!

Look who scores the first goal...!!!!!!
A certain John Hendrie.

When they were in the Premier League they were often called “Poor Barnsley” because they lost so heavily and so often. There was genuine sympathy for them and the name was very much affectionate.
