Barnsley Form Atrocious

Barnsley, without a win in ten matches and on a four-match losing sequence - and without a goal in open play in seven games..........

Oh dear, you know what this usually means!

Come on Boro.....4-0 let's smash the Tykes and take the pressure off

No, No, No.. OUR FORM IS ATTROCIOUS!! They've only lost one more game than us!

Wish you hadn't told us that😢😥......enter the runbreakers??

at some point we have created a new run of 'allowing rubbish teams to get out of their losing rut'.

So if Barnsley lose tonight we are once again the run breakers, breaking the run of worst form teams steamrolling over Boro to safety.
Hopefully I'll be sat there p|ss wet through as they stroll through our midfield like passing through a slight mist.

Everyone want to see Warnock whack his big managerial sausage on the table tonight and give it a bit of a rub.

We’re not expecting the full porridge slop.. but a twitch and a few throbs wouldn’t go amiss!!

This fixture last season was particularly brutal IIRC.
Absolutely lashed it down. I particularly enjoyed the hole in the North Stand roof right above my seat.
We won fairly fortuitously 1-0 with someone knacking their knee.

Boro vs Barnsley

Fantastic dummy finish by our prolific striker Fletcher

Middlesbrough moved out of the Championship relegation zone as they won for the first time in 11 games against bottom-of-the-table Barnsley on a treacherously wet evening on Teesside.

Hang on a minute.
We've played them at home again since haven't we?
They stayed up the finest of margins then changed tactics and went down the ultra-pressing route.
We still won again but with no crowd due to Covid

Boro 2 Barnsley 1 Oct 2020

Makes you realise how much better things are now that we can go to the match :) (y)

Rubbish opposition in absolutely terrible form? FFS, This is not going to end well for us, as their plodding players all discover their inner Messi's.

Last season when we beat them 2-1 at home it was our first Championship win of the season.
Seems weird as it was October 3rd but then it was a strange pandemic affected season.
They were at a low point but it was only a matter of weeks before Valerien Ismael took over as gaffer and completely rejuvenated their season.

Apart from Forest they have been only losing by single goals. Important we get off to a good start

I wonder what tactics they'll employ?
They used to be quite a neat possession-based team, if a bit toothless....then Ismael got them playing a completely different game.
