You’re the one on the football forum, paying for sky tv, boro tickets, shirts, pints etc, we all are. I doubt you’re going on doctors/ vaccine forums etc?

We’re not talking what is the most noble trade, if people believed that they would all want to work in nursing homes and charity shops, rather than taking 50k from a chemical company, pumping crap into the air. Theres about 20 vaccines, with thousands of equally capable people working on them, millions with medical degrees and there’s millions who could get a medical degree if they want to (or if they could afford one). Could anyone be Lionel Messi? No, 100’s of millions have tried and failed.

As for money, it all comes down to the size of the pyramid, and how difficult/ how much competition there is to get to the top of it, same as any other job. It’s funny mind, messi’s tax has probably indirectly saved more lives than any doctor, messi’s paying the doctors wages, and probably not even using any public health services. He’s paid them a heck of a lot more than all of us combined etc. It’s not all about money though, that’s not the only reward, and there’s downsides too, football is a short career, with massive risk, practically guaranteed failure, 100% in the public eye, clearly comes with some mental problems etc.

basket case financially, they and RM had a preferential TV deal making them more than the other Spanish clubs. Barca could be struggling for years
 
Easy to see just how good Messi is, the fact this team won anything in the last five years is a miracle
 
Why didn’t they sell Messi? Why are they paying so much out? How the fcuk did they end up with Braithwaite and paying more for him than we did? Millions of Fans, Huge Stadium, Superb Academy and they still end up in the situation they find themselves in.. bizarre

I had to laugh at the Chronicle story that said the sacking of Koeman would affect Newcastle as both teams would now be looking to bring in the same managers.
