Just cant get my head around it.... mc nair , wing - CM Saville DM - Spence / Coulson WB...... 2 forwards.... So link between forwards through the centre is Wing and McNair......when it wasnt happening and with tav, Morrisson on the bench they werent used......then we chuck another 2 forwards on and the shapees gone completley

Was Clear as early as the 15th minute there was no link between the forwards and midfield and at no point during the game did he try to address that. Was really poor from the manager on Saturday. Really poor.

Three centre backs, so why the deep lying central midfield player. I noticed a couple of times when Coulson made a run down the flank a central midfielder stepped in behind to cover rather than join the attack, even though Friend was already covering. Over caution weakening our meagre attacking options?

Our running of the ball is poor, bordering on non existent at times. I can't remember a forward coming deep with a midfielder running beyond happening, maybe it did and I missed it being sat behind the goal.

Aside from Coulson there was a reluctance to take a defender on, lack of knowhow, pace or confidence, perhaps a mixture of all three, but for a side not looking in pace it's worrying.

How he started and then kept Nmecha on the pitch for 90 minutes is anyone's guess.

I've tried to give Nmecha the benefit of the doubt, being young, new club, new players etc...but frankly he's offered us absolutely sod all.

If we are to play 2 up top, then anything but Britt & Fletcher (providing they're fit and available) is just wrong. It's very simple.

Roberts would have won that game
He is a massive miss. He’s a class act.

that said, why did he not bring Ravel or Tav on? Maybe not as good as Roberts at being the link man but the game was crying out for someone in the hole. I would of brought Morrison on myself. Seems a strange signing if he’s not gonna use him in a game such as that.

To go 424 when it was very windy and lump the ball to your big striker who can’t win a header and try and get the other forwards to run off him was schoolboy management. The best way to get at them was to keep it on the ground and create. I’m still so ***ed off

The subs were - Nmecha & McNair off. Morrison & Britt on.

Everyone around me at the ground were saying the same.

God knows what Woody was watching.

yep I said the exact same thing , to be honest I was ***ed off when I was seen the pair of them were starting.

McNair has been shocking for a few games now and Nmecha doesnt look like a championship level footballer.

The plan on Saturday was to hit long balls and hope the wind would catch them out. There was no attempt to play to any of our strengths.

I thought McNair was poor at Brentford. I was hoping that getting the opportunity to push forward again he would have revelled in the role but he was strangely subdued. Does he want away?

It’s a bizarre tactic to do that when it’s windy. It just played in there hands. Woodgate really needs to take a long look at himself after that shambolic display.

There were a number of players on that pitch that had stopped playing towards the end. Previously youth and/or ambition has ensured that players have kept playing despite the score or conditions. Far too many passengers.

As bad as the tactics subs were ( and they were bad) the real mystery is why only use 2 subs???

Luton who were winning made three!
To not use his options was criminal

Not involving Morrison on Saturday was baffling.

Woodgate spoke about how excited he was when he signed him, and I've been excited to see what he can do.

We've only got him on loan until the end of the season, so surely we should be playing him as much as possible, to see what he's about.

The game against Luton seemed like the perfect opportunity to give him his home debut. It was strange enough that he didn't start, but to not even bring him on when we were desperate for a goal was potty.
