I was there, aged 14 - a great precursor to that marvellous first season in 3rd div.
When I watched the game of our lives I was surprised by how well dressed the crowd were. Did you all wear suits and ties or was that just for the north stand?
I remember the row of Korean followers sitting in the main stand, all dressed almost identically in gaberdine macs and dark trousers. When the party leader stood, they all stood to applaud.
It was 1/6 in the boys end and 4/0 in the Holgate in 1966/67 season so it was almost double normal price.Gates were low as there was apathy towards World Cup football, Boro hadn't attracted any of the big sides (this according to the Gazette) and it wasn't helped that we had just been relegated to the third tier for the first time in our history.
