Awful support today

Absolute b***ks. The south stand never stopped singing from the first minute to the last.
Agree entirely south stand never stopped singing.
BUT
Not the right songs to get the whole ground bouncing.
Sorry lads but Isiah Jones running down the right hand side is not as inspiring as you think it is, and will not get the stadium rocking.
A bit mundane after a while if I am honest.
Whole ground singing Come on Boro when we have a corner, or even just Stand up if you Love Boro, much better for overall atmosphere.
North Stand once sang songs to get the whole ground rocking whereas South Stand just seem content to sing there songs and not bothered whether the rest of the ground sing or not.
Just my opinion from the East Stand of course.
Sorry if this is a bit controversial.

Yes controversial but I totally agree. The Wilder said song is good but it’s not anthemic and doesn’t really get the ground bouncing. Boro, Boro, Boro and Come on Boro at the Spurs match were spine tingling. But I thought the North stand were very quiet today compared to Spurs. They tend to go for the older songs and everyone joins in.

I thought the crowd were pretty poor really. Similar to Eindhoven, the late kick off means a few hours extra in the pub and the lethargy that comes with it.
Yes it doesn‘t help going behind early on but I was genuinely disappointed with the crowd but not too surprised.
We did have a good spell (of singing) second half but for me our best hope today was to get it bouncing from the off and even to make it quite toxic for Chelsea to play in. I’m pretty sure that’s what they expected and the real reason they wanted to play behind closed doors.
But their fears were unfounded and they got off lightly.
There were a good few sat behind me in the north stand who left just before half time and didn’t return. Shame on them….snowflakes. Probably should stick with going to the cinema if you want guaranteed entertainment,
I much prefer ‘the spirit of Steau‘.

Brilliant support! Spent the evening with two Chelsea fans who were completely in awe of boro!

They couldn’t understand how fine Matt crooks’ hair was after 2am to anyone they bumped into!! Mint!

support was totally outstanding today, and the tv people mentioned it very often the noise level,as someone above said, maybe their tv was turned down or on mute,or maybe they needed their ear syringing 😂 😂 😂 😂

I also agree, I found it surprisingly quiet. There was a 10 minute period 2nd half where we made a good bit of noise but otherwise it wasn't what I was expecting it to be.

I'm not sure if I'd set my expectations too high, after reading suggestions online for fans to take their seats early and recreate the Brighton atmosphere but it just felt underwhelming.
The Times report caught the moment in their report this morning. The wind was taken out of the voices of the raucous support by Chelsea coming so quickly out of the blocks.

Slightly disappointed with the lack of anti Chelsea chants. I thought we may hammer them after this week and past history.

That said great backing for the team.

I think giving fans actual stick has gone. We've come a long way from the 'it's nice to know your here' chants lol.

I have to say the South stand and Red Faction are the best thing that's happened to the club in years. It would a soulless place without them. That's not just last night. It's every game 👍

Losing a goal in 13 minutes obviously sucked a bit out of the atmosphere and at the match it did seem a bit subdued throughout the first half. In the NW corner plenty were singing and the North Stand were making some noise for the first time in a long time. Clearly it's usually just the South who keep it going but singing one song on repeat as said above doesn't necessarily raise the roof. There was a drastic improvement after the hour when most of the ground joined in. What DID surprise me when I watched the game back on TV was the level of noise we made. It sounded like BBC had put the effects mike in the South Stand. At times it was difficult to hear the commentary above it, and it was mentioned by the commentators more than once. And fortunately, I didn't hear "We shall overcome."

Been to many away grounds with Boro and witnessed some truly awful home supports.
To call our support awful yesterday is just not right,a more accurate description would be not as magnificent as normal but then again we didn't even trouble Chelsea to be honest

The crowd were better in the second half, but we were 2-0 inside 25 mins against a team that have a great defense and we were creating very little, so it would be a little subdued in the first half

Wow .... surprised to read the OP

I thought the crowd sounded decent to me, on the TV .. though I wasn't there and know the TV can edit sound out etc

It was certainly noisier than most other regulars on the TV, mind. All the big billionaire clubs are soulless compared to our lot.

Just like at the Spurs game there were loads of people around us (north stand) who were taking drinks up to their seats. Either they don’t know they’re not allowed, or they think they’re above it. We all know its the latter.

I do think that you should be able to drink in the stand by the way (despite what happened in Germany in Friday night), but at present you are not allowed.

Re the atmosphere, I thought it was great before kick off, and for a period in the second half it was good but other than that was just like normal.
