Author Michael Rosen very ill

...with covid-19, by the sound of it. He's a great children's writer and an all round good egg. I follow him on twitter and wondered why he'd gone quiet after days of reporting that he had a terrible fever, shakes etc. From his twitter account a couple of hours ago:

"From Michael's family: Michael is very poorly at the moment. Having spent a night in ICU, he is now doing "ok, stable, alert" and was able to go to a ward yesterday. Thank you very much for all your kind concern."

Looks like he's on the mend. Word from his wife is that while he's still poorly, he's eating and has improved overnight. Still using an oxygen mask, mind. Shows how serious this virus is.

Yes, I follow him on twitter and his wife was giving updates when he was critically ill. His Desert Island Discs is well worth catching on iplayer too - by turns very moving and an absolute hoot.

Heard him on Today this morning. He's one of the good guys. Glad he's recovering though it sounds like the after effects are quite serious in themselves.
