Recently binged the first three series, not seen it since I was a lot younger and never actually realised how brilliant it was. Who else is a fan? If so, favourite character/episode/moments?

I know it's a pretty obvious choice but I think Oz is phenomenal, and the scene where he storms into Ally's office (having got the wrong end of the stick) and ends up nutting his henchman is truly outstanding.

Loved that show, all the characters are excellent in there own roles, although Neville was a pain
The good thing is even though I've watched all episodes I can happily sit through them again

Did you know the back story that inspired the series

it’s about Teesside lads ( who’s ever heard of a Geordie grafter) leaving in the 80’s after the steel/ship yards closed to find work in Germany.

but they couldn’t find teesside actors so they used Geordies instead.

It was because a jawdee accent was more recognisable as they'd already had success with the Likely Lads.
Geordie gain was Teessides loss.

I love it. One of, and if not, my favourite TV series of all time alongside Only Fools. Whilst Fools & Horses is still a classic, I do think that Auf Wiedersehen has stood the test of time better. I must have watched them all from start to finish maybe 5-6 times over my lifetime, if not more.

Classic humour, and as a Teesside lad that has worked abroad, there is many things to relate to.

I didn't realise that zorro

Wasn't the very 1st episode in a pub in the town

Love F&H too, another never tire of watching British comedy

is an English comedy-drama programme about seven English construction workers who leave England to search for employment overseas. In the first series, the men live and work on a building site in Düsseldorf. The series was created by Franc Roddam after an idea from Mick Connell, a bricklayer from Stockton-on-Tees, and mostly written by d*ck Clement and Ian La Frenais, who also wrote The Likely Lads, Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads? and Porridge.
Likely lads, another beauty & good theme tune

I was too young for series 1 and 2, and they always look a bit grainy (although I do have my late Uncle's box sets somewhere in the house) and a bit too 'ITV'. I would like to watch them one day.

I loved series 3 and 4, was about the right age when they came out.
