Why do our players look so terrified to attack? McGree in particular makes runs into the channel, gets in behind and then immediately stops and turns back.

I wonder if this is a result of the way we played under Wilder. It seemed players were encouraged not to deliver the cross, and instead play the cut back if a player was making a late run into the box.

Absolutely depleted of any confidence would be my guess. Scared to make mistakes. Scared to get out of position because when we do turn it over, we struggle defensively.
