Why do our players look so terrified to attack? McGree in particular makes runs into the channel, gets in behind and then immediately stops and turns back.

Is someone telling them "whatever you do, don't lose the ball"?

That second half, got the ball wide, chance to drive and deliver.. stops, back to Lenihan.

Slow. Pedestrian. No risk taking. No urgency. No will to win. All just ponderous, safe *****.
 
I wonder if this is a result of the way we played under Wilder. It seemed players were encouraged not to deliver the cross, and instead play the cut back if a player was making a late run into the box.
