At the final whistle on Saturday

Don’t understand the reason why people leave early, mobility issues I understand. Can always remember two games v Leicester City both finished 3-3, under McLaren we scored two goals in injury time to draw and under Strachen scored a goal in injury time to draw. 3 goals scored in time added on by the Boro in two games to salvage points. 25% of the goals scored in those two games scored in time added on, that’s why you don’t leave early. I bet no Boro fan left early @ Cardiff 29.02.2004 😂

Left early once in the 70s when it was 0v0 and we scored. Heard the roar and I was gutted. Never done it since. I’ve paid my money to watch a football match and it’s only 90 minutes!

I have never understood this element of beating the traffic. You're talking about 25000 people leaving in half a dozen different directions. It must put at maximum 30 minutes on your journey home.

I have left early in the past but only because of the dross being served up on the pitch.
wouldn't say that's the max, more the minimum if you driving out of town on a saturday match,
i used to see more value hanging around the ground for longer, instead of just sat in the car burning fuel trying to drive back to get on the a19 lol
worked well taking the young one for autographs after the match to kill the time

Some fans leave early nowhere near 75% it tends to be older fans (from what I’ve seen) who must struggle walking in the crowd.

I stay a bit later, it has the same effect..
This exactly for me...not very good on my pins these days (to say the least) and I have actually been knocked over once. there was a time I could run home but that's in the long lost past ...and if it upsets anyone I leave a few minuets early...tough!!!

When the final whistle went on Saturday I reckon 75% of Boro fans had already left… The team has just put in the best performance of the season, so why?and what must the players think ? , personally i love it after a victory when the lights start to flash and the music is booming and the opportunity is there to say well done
A lot left but never 75pc..i commented to my mate on 78 mins when people were leaving, that there was still about 17 minutes left. My Dad used to tell me it was because people were rushing off for a bus. Not the case now. No buses.

15% by the final whistle?

It is annoying that folks stand up and obscure your view in the last minutes of the game.. funny when they miss a goal or a result tho!

Not sure what we could do to prevent it tbh..
change the car park configuration? Have some post match entertainment? In the stadium and outside..
It's the other 10% I'm worried about.
Prayers for the missing.🙏

Done it once in recent memory.

First game of the season at Millwall a couple of years ago.

Getting beat 2-0 in the 90th minute.

Got off the tube to find out we'd scored 2 in the last minute.

Never again.

The other thing that annoys me is the doyles that come up to their seats 10 mins late, then leave them again around the 25 min mark to then return and 35 mins and then do the same in the second half... usually non season ticket holders that do it... I have no idea why

we had a row of 6 doing it to us on Saturday... they seriously must have been up and down 8-10 times over the game. I would bet they only saw about half an hour
A day trip by the loose bladder supporters group?

People get up during the match to go for a wee.. no difference really. I think it's a bit gutting when we get a result right at the end and some folks miss out.

Wait until these bad boys come in red and you can just set them for home..

hopefully we'll soon have the technology to breed wasps the size of horses.. some ride home that like!

This has been going on for donkey’s years
’I done understand it’? You probably mean you don’t agree with it - they leave for a pint, to miss the traffic, for public transport et al.

Oh, and for those who get angry about it - crikey

The McLaren one was the only time I've left the RS early: I had a train that I needed to catch.

I think I got bombarded with hailstones as I walked round the estuary while listening to us score twice.

I learned my lesson.

While I get that some people will have to leave early, the poster above who has previously been knocked down in the rush etc. And on occasion if we have an event to attend now and then.
But just so you can get to the pub, really!
what about the fans who want to stay until the end but are up and down like yo yo’s letting these early leavers out.

For some it seems that Boro have ruthlessly interrupted their drinking. Miss the start, leave 5-10 minutes before HT, late back again, leave early. Why not just stay in the pub?

It's a while since I've been now, but I always waited til the majority of fans had gone and I could stroll back at my own sedate pace. Like having a cigarette after sex (except that I don't smoke) I like to appreciate the moment after a good 'win'.
I tried that, but the stewards went ape **** when we lit up....
