Warnocks days are numbered. Its either his last season, he'll get sacked or will walk. Suspect the latter will be the case and sooner the better. I coukd see him writing this season off in October and talk about "giving it a go" next year. You can just sense its coming to an end snd things arent and havent been right for sometime. Anyone watching us in a pre-season game could tell there were big problems

Fulham lost at home with 65% possession whilst Derby won at home with 32% possession. Possession stats can be greatly misleading and ultimately mean nothing when it comes to allocating the points. That being said, we had 49% possession so the 30% claim is blatantly untrue.

A lot of that possession was just them passing it between defenders and keeper and not going anywhere

He said 30% at one point i.e cumulatively at that particular stage in the game. Possession stats are updated in real time so not 'blatantly untrue' as you put it.

Possession stats are meaningless, transient ones doubly so, teams can and do win games with low possession stats. Nothing to get annoyed or upset about.

What gets me agitated is the way that teams continue to drive unchallenged through our central midfield. And our vanishing full backs. On a positive I like Sporar, Siliki looks a good player who just needs to adjust to the speed of the championship. Oh and Payero looks more ready to start. So move Johnny Howson to RB.

We are in transition, we are unlikely to trouble the top six but we won't go down either. Next season, new manager and hopefully on board with a consistent vision of how we play and develop our players and squad. It's just great being able to watch football with a crowd again.

(Low "expectations" really help sometimes)

It's these 'in transition' comments I'm constantly hearing which bother me. If we don't lay firm foundations this season and actually look and play like a decent football team we'll be in transition for ever more.

There is a potential that next season we'll lose Fry, Tavernier, McNair, Sporar, Siliki, Hernandez and Payero and be back to square one if we don't stop fannying around and get something achieved.

NW and his coaching team need to start doing their jobs better and quickly.

Very true but our lack of possession is every week

it’s by design not by default

The lack of possession is kind of by design isn't it? Seem to recall a pre-season friendly where by all accounts we played some great stuff, but Warnock was unhappy because he wanted us to get the ball forward quicker.

That's the crux of it for me. Many of the players we have are more suited to playing a pass and move game. Warnock doesn't want that.

(Agree possession stats are largely meaningless mind).

Just watching the game Blackpool had more of the ball and as a resut controlled the pace of the game. They also worked harder without the ball. Posession stats just reinforce how bad we were yesterday as we let the game slip after Sporar hit the bar.

I felt we did not have control of the game, I am not saying Blackpool did but it was too 50/50. We were playing a bottom half team at home and we are expected to push for a top 6 spot. Its been a pattern in most of our games. OK we could have escaped with a win still, but the laws of averages said a draw on Saturday. I was fully expecting us to outscore them on chances and we didn't. Losing Djkesteel did not help of course.

Yep, dangerous to read too much into possession stats. As mentioned above, our possession is low by design (not accident). Numerous managers have achieved success this way, Jose for one. It's about having a style of play which gives you the edge over your opponent (admittedly this hasn't happened this season).

My main gripe is that some of the newer players are probably not accustomed to playing this way and we may actually benefit from a style of play centred on ball retention. I'm not sure if Warnock has this in his play book?
