How many kids get access to coaching and equipment for any particular sport will decide how well any nation does in that sport. It's a disgrace that kids in this country can go through their entire school years without ever playing cricket for example. Without getting all Dave Spart about it, what do you reckon the income of the parents of the average competitor in dressage or yachting is? I bet the most naturally talented skier ever to be born in this country will never be known, simply because he or she never got to have a go.
Interestingly (or not) our most successful skier is Dave Ryding, who might be the exception to prove the rule. His Dad was a market trader who became a gas engineer, and Dave learned to ski on a dry slope! But your point remains very fair.

His Dad was a gas engineer, you say? Judging by what the bandit who fixed my boiler charged, he must light his cigars with £50 notes!

I don’t even know hiw the scores work in tennis , atleast theres no score draw 🥴
It's.
Not.
Difficult.

Someone serves the ball to someone else. If the ball that the aforementioned someone succeeds in serving the ball into the service box of the aforementioned someone else the aforementioned someone else attempts to return the ball back into the half of the court that the aforementioned someone initially served into the service box of someone else. This is called making juice whilst making love.

Aldridge, Lawrenson, McCarthy, Houghton, Townsend, Cascarino, McAteer
(Slaven, Kernaghan)
Irish footballers apparently.

Cascarino was the best. Didn't it turn out after he'd retired that he had no Irish heritage whatsoever? And he was their record goalscorer till Robbie Keane surpassed it 😃

Just watched his on-court post-match interview. When did it become a thing to give the player their own mic stand whilst the BBC interviewer stands 10 feet away with their own mic?
