ARGH The rules are so wrong!

Why can my idiot neighbours have a cleaner in their house for 3 hours today and now have a pond bloke turn up (both friends of them) and we aren't allowed to go inside out families houses? These are the 2 that have flaunted the rules since day 1 and I heard them say yesterday "well I don't think we are breaking the rules" after having 2 friends in the house yesterday as well.

******* me right off now..

and that is the problem... the likes of him and others who are "i'm ok jack", whereas we have personally been affected in a big way by this and have tried to do the right thing
 
Do what’s right for you, keep yourself protected regardless of others.

my neighbours have literally done what they wanted throughout - had family around - VE day parties and so on. I can’t even look them in the eye and I had to stop going out for the NHS clap as my blood would boil as they applauded the very people they were putting at greater risk!!!

as of yesterday I think for many they just believe the lockdown is over - myself I will keep a very low profile and may meet friends in a small group outside in a few weeks time. See how it goes.

We all have mate, this is why the "time to move on" shtick from Tories and their sock puppets is so odious.

What he did, that they don't seem capable of acknowledging is p!ss all over the sacrifice of those who have died particularly the Doctors, Nurses and other Health Workers who have died during this pandemic. It is sickening.
 
We have begun the long trek back to normality in our family, the kids and I have been round to the parent's garden this week before Boris 'allowed' it to re-engage the relationship between my kids and my parents. The ultimate outcome I'll be leaving my kids with my parents beginning the end of next week should my parents want to see and look after my kids for the day.
Do what's right for your family sadgit, please don't rely on the say so of man who's family values live in the gutter.

Maybe to a degree if those people can’t think for themselves. I see some just using DC as the excuse they have been waiting for. I’ve seen it already a Muslim friend of mine I called on her way to Eid celebrations to meet her family - she said now that Dominic Cummings has broke the lockdown it’s ok. It was absolute b***ks as she was always going to meet her family for Eid and had told me so previously.

I'm sure it has opened the door for many to make up their own rules now.

Let's hope there is no backlash of a second wave or these people as should Cummings and Johnson should hang their heads in shame.

Lack of leadership and lack of moral values coming home to roost.

It will be the weakest and oldest who will pay.
 
Using Dominic Cummings as an excuse for personally breaking the rules is just childish and I suspect will be done by the sort of person who has been breaking the rules the whole time anyway. There are loads of crimes that are easy to get away with but the majority of the country don't commit them because they are decent people. Lockdown rules are no different.

It's been repeated frequently but the reason you neighbour can have a cleaner and you can't see family is because one of them is beneficial to the economy and the other is just a nice thing to be able to do. One of them saves jobs and livelihoods long term so is prioritised.
 
As Mike said, it's about the economy. I miss my family, I have canceled 2 and likely 3 trips to the North East to go and see them. However if it's a choice between seeing them, and ensuring they have jobs and are financially stable I'd choose the jobs every time.

Totally agree. I have nothing but comtept for Cummings, but using it as a reason to break the rules yourself make no sense. The reason i've not been seeing parents is to not put them at risk. I don't see why i would change that because he was willing to do so.

I agree but the police report that people are doing exactly that when challenged as to why they are doing something that breaks the rules. Control has been lost, trust in the Government is at a low, yes most people will continue to obey the rules and stay within the guidelines but the actions of Cummings emboldens those who might otherwise have conformed. Did you see the image of a group of Doctors "taking a knee"outside Downing Street in protest?

TBH right from the beginning certain groups were doing as they pleased, we still had gangs roaming around Middlesbrough, standing on street corners, visiting mates, family, it's not all down to Cummings, or the government, from the lockdown in March sections of adults wern't grown up about it all all & done how they seen fit

Point taken. There will always be that element even without the other scenario.

Just saying that it doesn't help the situation especially when we have been confined to the house.

Seeing the behaviour of these people doesn't fill us with confidence for when we do eventually leave the house.

Has taking in a cleaner since the lockdown been ok, regardless of effect on the economy. Only go to work if necessary and safe to do so and don't take in visitors are policies I remember. The job isn't necessary, it's a nice to have.

Had the cleaner transmitted the disease it would have had a far more detrimental effect in the economy.

Sounds a little short sighted, which actually sums this shower if a nation up well.
