Loved the 1978 World Cup. Scotlands defeat to Peru who they had underestimated greatly haha. Enjoyed the whole spectacle. Great stadiums, the pitch covered in ticker tape, black and white footballs, the simple but effective strips, the commentary and the football which was sublime. Everyone remembers Kempes.

As a **** sure 18 year old I saw the pet cat on the way to the front door. Totally sure that the game was going to penalties i went to let him in ( what a boy, love you Pep) to get my hand on the for to hear my dad, a usually reserved man. “ oh boy!! You’ve missed it, what a goal”.
