Are we talking up Mbappe too much?

He's probably the best player in the world right now.

Walker is very good but prone to a gaff or two most games which is worrying.

Walker to do a job on him! Ashley Cole on Ronaldo esq.

I think if he plays on the left I think we should be able to do a job on him - Walkers pace, Henderson’s overall discipline and experience as well as experience helping his RB for Liverpool, assisted by the pace and energy of Saka or the extra defensive qualities of Trippier ( if we go with Trippier at wingback).

I keep wondering about this. Like you say "if he plays on the left". Does anyone wonder whether Deschamps might play him on the right instead, so he'd be up against the slower England defenders Shaw and Maguire?

Don't think he'll go wingback now, although it was probably his original intention for big games. I think we're probably better of with a midfielder coming across to support (Henderson probably asyou suggest) rather than wingback. I think they'd just get pegged back anyway and we'd lose a midfielder
I think and hope he will go 433.

Yeah same. Could see Deschmps playing him on the right, but if he does start on the left (where he has been playing so far) and Walker keeps him quiet, then he’d probs get moved out to the right at some point anyway.

Yes but only to the extent that by focusing too much on Mbappe we may take our eye off other quality players in their side. Griezmann is having an excellent - his movement and link up will need to watched very carefully. Giroud is also playing very well, seems much more mobile for France than Milan.

I'm also a little nervous that we haven't seen Coman (at all I think?) An absolutely devastating player who can change games on his own.

I don't think there's any chance our preparation hasn't focused on all threats. I doubt Southgate would go overboard on an individual, you don't want to breed fear.
