Just a thought have we switched to this more defensive system to be easier to fit George back into. As coulson isn’ta left back and never will be. He is however an incredible potent wing back.

Surely we aren’t going to go back to friend howson full backs combo when e we have seen how dynamic coulson and Spence can be.
Very disappointing this

I prefer coulsen and Spencer further forward I think we need proper right and left backs in the summer like we did last summer .

If we start on sat with out coulson and Spence again then you have to wonder what is really going on.

I think we need to use what ever system we’re using next season hopefully that’s wingbacks. Woody wanted 433 monk wanted 433 and it’s been shocking for us .

I think some people’s memories of Geoge’s ability as a left back are going to be challenged when he returns.

We don’t have the players for 433. Roberts was a good player for RW in that system but we don’t have anyone good enough on the opposite side and Roberts is out for ages so I just don’t understand the thinking, yesterday wasn’t even 433 it was a bit of a shambles of a formation with no width whatsoever .

BRING BACK WINGBACKS ffs

It's hard to play wing backs if you're not a great side, especially when you're away, and even more so when playing a team which presses with high energy and aggression, like Wigan did last night. If you get caught out with a poor pass (like we often do), then you're right up $hit creek playing wingbacks. Even more so when your centre backs are either a) prone to mistakes, b) not centre backs or c) not played many games.

The main reasons we didn't win last night was because of ability and mistakes, not a lot to do with formation. Our defenders are just not good enough at defending and keep making silly mistakes. Most of those mistakes seem to keep coming from Fry. Our keeper doesn't pull off worldies like Randolph, but it's his first season, and he was free, so I'm not expecting much from him.

First goal, Fry should have put a challenge in the second their player left the box and Pears should have saved it. I can't recall how they ended up in that position, but it might have even come from a crap Fry clearance.
Second Goal, Coulson should have cut out the 50 yard pass into the box, but it was a good overlap and cross and would have been a goal if Makoudi missed it. Pears would have easily cut this out, if he wasn't stuck so close to his line.

Yeah, it wasn't pretty, but how often have our away games been pretty in the last 10 years?
At least we seem to be trying to play good short passing football, and should have came away with the points. We had more possession, shots and a goal disallowed too.

Lets not forget, when we were playing crap football under Pulis, 75% of people on here were whinging, but we were getting points and doing ok for our ability. All we're getting now, is what we asked for, slightly better football, but worse results and we have a worse team also.
