Are the Killers the biggest band to play in Middlesbrough?

Adam & the Ants played three times, bigger each time - well before he started with his prince charming design and two drummers..

The last time they played, along with selling T-shirts they were using stencils to spray paint their logo on the back of biker jackets. I went to Futurama 2 in Leeds in early September 1980, and about 70% of the males attending were in biker jackets with the A&TA's logo on the back. Within weeks they'd done TOTP's and most said hard core Punks had blacked out biker jackets and denied any knowledge of even listening to them!

Suede played Teesside Uni in my freshers week.

I went but thought they were *****.

Sorry got nothing else to add really. Saw the killers at Birmingham about 15 years ago when they were good. Couldn’t be arsed now tbh.

The Stone Roses played the town hall 23 June 1989 on their debut album tour. Not yet at the peak of their fame but enough people had heard the buzz about the album for it to be something more than an averagely obscure indie band playing in Middlesbrough.

Also, The Smiths played the Town Hall three times 1984, 85 & 86. By 1986 after The Queen is Dead album they were at the height of their fame while still together (they disbanded a year later in Oct 1987)

Saw them on their USA tour in 2008 or 2009, surprised how small the venue was, not sold out and fairly cheap tickets. Same for Kings of Leon around the same time. Both excellent concerts in a venue the size of Boro town hall.
The US doesn't have the same appetite for music that we do, apparently.
