Are the Government massaging the death rate.

There should be an ONS infection update today, but nothing so far.

Now published today. Estimates 39,000 new infections per week (5,600 per day) in England, which is down from the previous estimate of 56,000 per week (8,000 per day).

Obviously, this is good news. However, latest estimate of the R number remains between 0.7 and 0.9 (with the estimate for England between 0.7 and 1.0). Also, reduced number of daily infections would reduce my very rough estimate for very mild/asymptomatic cases to 65-75%.

This government massaged figures prior to coronavirus. Remember when the a&e figures were ridiculously bad. They changed what they measured and how they measured it. It's this governments way.
