Are kit manufacturers taking the urine?

The arsenal one looks like part of a Halloween costume. All I can see is veins or blood.

The man Utd one is a zebra costume obviously

The wolves one looks like someone's been wearing a white shirt to paint a room.

Ridiculous.

Is it the manufacturers?
Suspect it is more about sponsorship deals agreed and supported by the clubs

It's like shitposting. Bad news travels further and lasts longer. Keeps the sponsors name in the public eye for longer.

Thing is, until you said that, I hadn't even noticed the sponsor's logos. Maybe this will backfire?
I bet they have someone coming up with media engagement figures to justify the cost of sponsorship or even to push it higher next time around.

Man Utd one is interesting. Is it designed to confuse opposition players? It is basically "dazzle camouflage"

Will it make it difficult for defenders to pick up the "right man"?

I love the Man Utd kit for the above reason. Maybe it's because I have an interest in WW1 (used to be a battlefield guide) but the dazzle camouflage used in the war is a fascinating concept.

But wasn't the idea behind dazzle camouflage that it would prevent subs and ships from sighting their guns accurately? Are we going to see a lot of stray passes from United away from home?

It'll be like that grey away kit they wore for one half against Southampton all those years ago. The one that was supposed to go with jeans for fans. They were 3-0 down at halftime, and Ferguson reckoned it was because they couldn't pick each other out so they changed kit for the second half, and never wore the grey again.

That sort of makes it more interesting. Firstly I don't think it is an obvious "go to" combination with jeans or any other type of lower half apparel (pencil line or kilt). Secondly, you would think that Man Utd of any team would be aware of the possibility of team mate confusion, I will be interested to find out if there is science behind it or is it simply fashion?

The Man United one is even worse when you see the full kit, bonkers.

As it goes, I quite like the Arsenal one. The MU shirt isn’t great but when you see the matching shirts and socks....wow.

Going slightly off kilter, I was dissapointed to learn today that England RFU were leaving Canterbury to go with Umbro. (n)
